To eat meat or not to.

I call bull. Everyone gets sick. Everyone goes to the doctor.

I very rarely get sick. I catch colds, sure. Common colds are unavoidable, especially in my profession where I can meet between 3-20 new people a day.

Last time I went to the doctor was 1.5 years ago, and that was after I pulled a muscle. As far as getting sick, aside from colds, I haven't visited a doctor for that since ...oh... 1985? lol

I personally don't care what people eat, but if people get on me for eatting meat then thats their own problem. I'm sick of people that get on others for what they choose to do.

Exactly. That's one reason my sister doesn't tell people that she doesn't eat meat. She made the mistake of telling people in middle school this and they started slipping meat into whatever she was eating. She'll explain why if she thinks people will respect her but most of the time she doesn't. I've teased her about it but that's what siblings are for. She doesn't preach to us and we don't preach to her.

Time to revive this thread. We have a few new members in the forums that talk about being vegetarian. I'm curious to see their points of view.

So speak up, we will respect your opinions. There might be differing points of views and some arguing of points, but in the end, we all get along.

Depends on your self control.... eating MEAT is just an substitute for VEG.FOOD.... so any ways the first preference goes for VEGG..in day-to-day life... MEAT eating for someone can be a daily appetite but not for long time, so eating MEAT totally depends on your self-control ability, if anyone decides to quit MEAT he/she can immediately do the needful or else be VEG+NON-VEG ...so if today I am saying I don't eat meat, may start eating the next day..pretty unpredictable...

I have no problem with vegetarians who do it to be healthy, it's the one's who protest animal rights and try to force their beliefs on me that piss me the fuck off. I'll eat meat if I want to, you can not if you don't want to. I'm not trying to convince you to eat meat. If it was't for people eating meat through out history you wouldn't be here, and anyone who thinks other wise is wrong. Not misled, just plain wrong. Why do you think people have "I" teeth? It's not for tearing into that boccoli. Don't eat meat if you don't want to, but I'm gonna go grill a nice big steak.

From this article: Maddox Peta response (i know he goes over the top, but he has some valid points.)

vegetarians love to boast outrageous figures like "it takes 5,000 gallons of water to produce one pound of beef and only 20 gallons to produce one pound of wheat." I've heard figures ranging from 2,000 to 5,000, and vegetarians will be damned if they include a source so we'll take the mean (that means "average") and go with 3,500. The average person consumes 1.5 million gallons of water every year (it takes water to grow and produce the food you eat in addition to the water you drink, quit emailing me you morons). Why isn't PETA protesting overpopulation of humans on the street corners? Why isn't PETA passing out free condoms or throwing javelins in your cock when you walk down the street if they really cared about water consumption? It's not like that water just suddenly disappears. The earth has had about the same amount of water for 2 billion years. So if a pound of beef takes 3,500 gallons of water, what difference does it make? How many vegetarians drive a car? To make a car (including tires), it takes about 40,000 gallons of fresh water. That's not including the gas it takes to run the car, the electricity to run the gas station, the water used to create the boat that brought your precious oil, the water used to create the pavement you drive on, the destruction of toxic chemicals that went into creating your clothes, and the electricity you use every day to send me stupid emails over the internet. Every year you are directly responsible for the consumption of billions of gallons of water. There are 26 million people suffering preventable brain damage from iodine deficiency, and another 1.5 billion people at risk. Nevermind that, you have animals to save. By driving your cars, you pump billions of tons of poison into the atmosphere and you're slowly killing us all. The computer you use requires 250 watts of electricity, let alone the billions of computers required to keep you on the internet. All consuming energy. All contributing to pollution. Let's just ignore those minor hypocrisies. Someone wants to enjoy a burger and you'll be damned if you're going to let them.

It bothers me when people think that people who don't follow the norm (in this case diet-wise (eating meat)) are doing something bad. Being a GOOD vegetarian means that you will live a very healthy and very normal life. QUOTE from

No...a balenced diet means that you will live a healthy and very normal life. If a person has to suppliment their diet with things that are chemically and physically altered to meet their nutritional needs ( tofu, vitimen enriched milk, suppliment pills) then they cannot call anyone wrong.... (which the quoter did not do btw) I eat meat because its available, tastes good and I need it to stay healthy....just as much as vegetables....but vegetables are easier to "copy"....red meat isnt....the best source of protien....is meat....creatin....meat.....L-Glutimen...meat.....Non-saturated fat....meat.....energy....starches like potatoes...but meat is next lol. My view of veggitarians can be heard by sending an email to locerook@yahoo.

Well I'm gonna put in my two cents without really reading anyone elses opinion cause that's how I roll. I eat the meat, and I got a friend who's a vegitarian. At first I thought she was kinda silly, but I now I really respect her for it. Her opinion is that she loves animals and just doesn't want to see them harmed, and she can't eat meat without thinking about an animal being killed. Me on the other hand, I love animals, and don't like that they get killed, but I just can't help it that they taste good.

Hi.

I am new here, but have mentioned in my intro post that I am veggie, as I answered most of those questions listed by one of the mods on here, I think it was.

I am veggie purely because I can't stand or cope with the chewing process of eating meat and the thought it's animal. Us humans are not actually carnivours at all, we have just got that way over time.

Well, I say I'm veggie, but it's just meat and poultry I don't eat.

I have been this way for over 20 years, but I wish I was nice and slim with it, as has been presumed on here.

All my friends, son and partner eat meat, but it doesn't bother me they choose meat when out for a meal - each is entitled to their own choice in life, in my opinion.

I am not huge, but I am certainly not undernourished - but wish I could lose some weight.

Chocolate - well, that is my huge downfall!
