*Cracks fingers*
TNA iMPACT drew a 0.6 this week. That is a god awful rating. I mean the biggest problem is....well actually there's a few.
Firstly Russo, the guy is a horrible booker, always has been. He doesn't have a clue about the current pulse of wrestling fans.
Secondly Dixie Carter. She doesn't have a fucking clue about pro wrestling. I mean she twittered that the reason iMPACT was down was because of Shawn Michaels retirement on Raw. She is so deluded it's unreal.
Thirdly Hogan/Bischoff. Now many people felt this was what TNA needed to raise their exposure and sure on the first Monday Night show they got a 1.5 but they just haven't built on that and now find themselves struggling to make even half that, and the difference now is they are Monday's permanently getting buttfucked by Raw in the ratings.
All of them need to go.
Another problem TNA have is that while some people might be turning Raw off in stages, they are turning their TV's off, NOT turning iMPACT on, which is what needs to happen. and that's what did happen during the war between WWE and WCW back in the day.
Now the next two weeks they have a slight chance of getting a better rating because next week they are on 8-10, whilst Raw is on 9-11, but they need to get at least a 1.2 to makie a success of it, I predict a 0.9. The week after Raw is in the UK and therefore isn't live on TV, which means spoilers will appear from the live show and people may well want to watch iMPACT (which is live that week) but again, they'd have to get at least a 1.2 for it to appear a success, they won't, it'll be a 0.9.
Another thing, and I sort of alluded to this above, is that while Raw's ratings arent exactly through the roof, iMPACT's aren't moving to any great effect (good example - Raw got a 3.2 last week, logic says TNA should have got at least a 1.3 - they got a 0.8) and THAT is the major difference between now and the late 90's.
The other one is that iMPACT is just shit, it really is car crash TV. Hogan's on 90% of the show and not bumping up the rating and attention is being taken away from the younger guys who would get better ratings.
TNA fans need to realise that the argument "I like it so the rating's don't matter" argument doesn't work because Spike will move it back to Thursday's is it stays like this and that would mean Hogan would leave because he went there to get TNA into the limelight - sure it's doing that but for all the wrong reasons.
They need to get rid of Hogan/Bischoff/Dixie/Russo, go back to Thursday's, draw more attention to the younger guys, get the ratings up to a 1.5 every week (perfectly achieveable) and then maybe, MAYBE, contemplate Monday nights.
