Should Same Sex Couples Be Allowed To Adopt?

it's a choice but think about it...the choice becomes a lifestyle the shit you have to put up with as a gay couple makes it just that....and to put a child through that which even some adults can't withstand is plain stupid to me....but thats just my opinion...

Parenting is parenting... and if the parents have the right set of mind it should not matter what their sexual preference is.
and yes even though their sexual rpeference is different than ours, it doesnt mean they dont have the right set of mind.

I'm not saying a gay couple is not capable of loving and taking proper care of a child but just as others have pointed out what about the emotion bond needed for a child (mother and father both)...i'm sure those of you who didn't grow up with both your parents wish you did? it's an assumption......If I grew up without my dad I would of always wondered for the rest of my life about him......who would teach me the guy stuff and how to be a man? Two mothers or two fathers can only do so much for a child....i'm not saying the child will go hungry or get sick because of the way a gay couple will take care of them but how will they raise them is more the question???

There are so many children that are bounced from foster home to foster home or live in some orphanage. There are LOADS of good people who just happen to be homosexual that want these children.

Anyone can give birth but it takes work to raise children and who is to be that judge? Who has that kind of power to say that because of your sexual preference you aren't fit to raise a child? Especially when there are bucket loads of straight people having children that they don't want to even have because their irresponsible assholes?

Look I must not being typing it correctly......You don't choose to be gay I understand that what i'm saying is what if a straight child gets adopted by a gay couple. And that straight child who was straight to begin with decides and makes a choice on thier own because they know no better to have a gay relationship because of what they saw growing up. Is that fair to the child.....it's the same as when strict straight parents don't except thier own child for being gay.....that to me is stupid as well...


I'm not trying to upset anyone but wanted opinions to match up with what I thought as well.....


I believe gay couples should exist i'm not a gay basher, niether do I act differently towards any because of sexual prefference it's just I have a strong opinion when it comes to kids......is all.

part of the reason why I started this thread as well is because I have a cousin who has two moms....so Yes I have two aunts....She came to me the other day and told me that she didn't like girls....never did but felt the pressure from her moms....to date that way....I talked with her for hours till we finally came to the conclussion that the way she grew up made her think that way....all along she was attracted to guys but felt it was the wrong thing to do even though she's seen others go by what they feel and not what they think.....She expressed to me how hard growing up with two moms was....and how much criticism she faced in school and work......I felt really really sorry for her.....She then pointed out that it's not even legal for same sex couples to adopt in the state we live in so how was it fair her moms got to take care of her when her dad could have as a straight male......I was confussed cause I never knew that this was an issue but now I do and understand her and any other child that may be in her shoes now or later down the road....


you may think what you want about same sex couples and thier abilities as parents but you won't know anything until you actually talk with a child that was raised by a same sex couple....

Like I said thats my opinion I don't want to ruin a childs life thats why I wouldn't just give a child away to just anyone............I'd check a couple....check then again and then double check them again....a childs life is not something to experiment with......the same chances everyone else in this world is given they should have....a fair chance.....without any bias from anyone......school hood friends...teachers....co workers.....employers.....if you don't think having a same sex couple as your parents affects you then I'll give you my cousins # and you try and explain your reasonings to her....

Your cousin has had bad parenting thrust upon her it doesn't mean that it's because they are same sex they are just shit parents!

Why don't you go ask some kid who's been bounced from multiple foster homes if they'd enjoy a stable home with gay parents? Why don't you ask some kid who's never KNOWN a real fucking home if they'd want one but the parents are gay?

Sure they should... I don't think its any of our business really to decide who can take care of a child. There are some "typical" couples that shouldnt be allowed to raise a child and do a shitty job at it, yet they are allowed to because its one man and one woman.

I vote no, and that is because I do not think gay couples pose a good example of a good relationship, nor can they provide the father figure or mother figure as dazner was saying. Well, and I think homosexuality is just wrong, it's not the way humans are built. Guys and girls have certain parts for a reason...
