Says the person who thinks something exists if you believe it does and pray to it.
If you read back the conversation on here you would see the logic and examples I have used but of course you're not here to debate or listen to anyone, you're just here to shove your beliefs downs others throat and them insult them if they disagree with you. You said as much in the stickied thread in the inspirational thoughts sub forum.

I have yet to see anything logic from you in this thread. Show me!

Blind faith can be a curse or the cure depending on the outcome. Personally I don't commend latching onto an idea because it feels good, giving into emotion and refusing to consider logical based alternatives. But that is what faith frequently is, in the absence of substance, basing beliefs on ideas with the weight of fairy tales. Some skepticism is wise.

Personally, I do have faith in God's existence. But yes, I do also have some questions. But questioning certain aspects of your faith doesn't make you any less of a believer.

There will never be facts when it comes to faith in God. It is purely opinion based on what is written in the Bible. So can religion be a truly debatable topic? I don't think so.

I only believe in things that there is outside of my brain proof of so I can't give you an example of something I personally believe in that dosen't exist. I'm quite a logical person and I don't really go in for conspiracy theories, myths and the like

Then why bother replying to me Peter?

I'm starting to wonder that myself. You have no interest in debate whatsoever, you have no interest in listening to anyone other than yourself and are just interested in either preaching at people, insulting people who disagree with you and repeating the same thing over and and over again.
That's not how a deabte works.

I think that the reason why most religious threads are started by non-believers is because they just are not capable of leaving it alone. Why? Because they want us to tell them that it's ok to live with nobody to ever answer to. It bothers them to think that there is a possiblilty that they're wrong, that's why they need to belittle anybody who threatens their perfect world.

Flying toasters is what you call logic?..lmao....really? Omg...my stomach hurts from laughing:24:

Obviously your knowledge of logic is as limited as you knowledge of what facts are. Prehaps you should come back when you have learned what both of those words mean as you are clearly completely out of your depth.

The same could be said about some religious people. You're proof of that.

lol...Oh Peter. I think you've become so accustomed to others feeling intimidated by you that when somebody is not, it really gets your goat...lol. If you would simply read your own posts then you'd find the answer you say you seek......why do I insult you? Because you insult me first. You have no idea how debate works Peter, that's obvious. I've yet to see you offer anything intelligent.

I don't preach, I just defeind my right to believe in a God who's as real to me as my right arm.

Now for the sake of others having to come in here, how about staying on topic and show us some examples of this so called 'logic' that you've been talking about.

I always enter into religious threads hoping to find knowledge and information/perspectives that expand my frame of reference. Sometimes I do, and it's been great, sometimes, like this time and countless others on other forums, I find nothing but the same old ignorant rhetoric.

OK, I type slow and I cannot even read fast enough to keep up with you guys. Anyway, I am Christian, I have not yet seen anything from science that shakes my failth in the slightest. When the Bible and science dont seem to agree, man is making a mistake in one or the understanding of the other, but the Bible is not wrong. I have faith in God and science is how He allows us to understand our world.

I've already shown you where you insulted me. You dont want to read it though because you have no interest in anyone except yourself and your opinions.

You are saying the same tired thing which has been completely refuted over and over again. All it shows is that you have no interest whatsoever in a debate and are just a stereotypical religious brow beater. Congratulations, you're done your beliefs much more disservice than any athiest ever could. :clap

The entire key to the discussion is that there is no proof, no facts, no truth, hence it's faith. The Bible is a terrible document for proving anything other than human's desire to believe. However there are personal testaments of belief. As long as the discussion is framed in that way I have no problems with it other than to say my beliefs if any, are vague, being much more generalized and without substance or specific claims. For example, I might say "there could be a supreme being", but it's not a belief, it's a possibility and I'd never go as far to push the idea of its rules, feelings, protectiveness, or even awareness of the human race. Ancient books written by highly superstitious human beings just don't carry any weight in my modern world unless you are easily influenced. Not to say the message is impossible. I just see no reason why early human beings would be on any faster a track into the mind of God than we are today. Keep in mind these books were written when any bad weather event or plague signified God's displeasure. :)

Spirituality which I possess, does not need to have one deity in charge. Could be a committee. Could be the multitude of souls grouped together. Could be unfathomable, totally unrecognizable or understandable in this Earth bound body. Could be nothingness until the next time events conspire to grant me consciousness. ;)
