The Democrats are the bigger threat... if they have their way, they're going to make this country completely economically insolvent.
Wow, you really believe that, don't you?
Dems raise taxes and increase spending; Repubs cut taxes, keep the Dem spending then add a bit of their own; then Dems add to the spending and re-raise the taxes. Eliminating the deficit wasn't from any change in this pattern but from an unexpected & unrelated economic boom, which turned out to be a bubble. They worked together to recreate an artificial boom (housing) and look what it got us.

Both are guilty.

if that is true then the press is being a bunch of morons when they attack the republicans as they did

The Republican Party will never get serious about fixing this countries budget problems until they saddle the burden on working class Americans. The mantra of lowering the rich's tax burden to create jobs is mostly bullshit. A guy with a million dollars who gets an extra 50k, will most likely invest it in the market. He won't be starting a new company. That won't be creating jobs. But it's the way they can keep the fat cats in their corner.

The problem is not that someone isn't taxed enough, it's that the government is spending too much. Neither party is interested in changing that.

I freely admit, the Republican Party is kicking the shit out of the Dems. They are superior politicians, not that it's intended as a complement.

The rich getting soaked. That is really a humorous notion as compared to millions upon millions of middle/working class jobs shipped outside our borders.

I'm not.

After Obama caved on taxes, instead of saying he did the "right thing" (from their perspective), Palin said the President flip-flopped on taxes. Expect no quarter from this party. Their goals are very clear.

Still whining Minor??

You claim to be independent but you drip with Democrat envy

Both sides play the same games. As long as people like you wear blinders they can get away with that.

America's place in the world could play part in 2012 elections USA Today

Summary: Certain Republican's are saying that Obama does not believe the USA is exceptional. While I don't believe that Obama feels this way, I'd have to ask, have we been exceptional in the last 10 years? And are we required to constantly be patting ourselves on the back especially in light of all the (some self imposed) problems we face? Newt is one of the sleaziest politicians I know of. I really hope the Republicans run him for President.

Obama "has clarified and personified secular socialization and a European view," says former House speaker Newt Gingrich, who is weighing a presidential bid in 2012. Obama, he says, made "disastrous" comments on the subject during his first trip overseas as president in an exchange that has become a cause celebre among conservatives.
At a news conference in Strasbourg, France, in April 2009, a British reporter had asked the new president whether he subscribed to the idea that the United States is uniquely qualified to lead the world. "I believe in American exceptionalism, just as I suspect that the Brits believe in British exceptionalism and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptionalism," Obama had replied.

That comment — which White House officials say critics have twisted and pulled out of context — led Gingrich, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin and other prominent Republicans to question whether Obama believes that the USA has, by virtue of its heritage, a distinct and extraordinary role in world affairs.

There are those who have problems with this statement?? Have you ever heard of being diplomatic?

:24:

enslaving people? illegally invading countries around the globe? financially bullying smaller nations? raping the world of it's natural resources?

Yup, quite extraordinary. The politicians in the US let you guys down.

you don't think our largess would be missed?

you silly boy you :D

by whom exactly? who would miss the crippling debts your IMF forces on other countries? Debts made out of money that was simply written into being through the fractional reserve system.

I'm sorry but you really need to see your country from the outside. It doesn't give, it just takes. The world would be a far nicer place without US Imperialism enslaving it.
