The Democrats are the bigger threat... if they have their way, they're going to make this country completely economically insolvent.
Dems raise taxes and increase spending; Repubs cut taxes, keep the Dem spending then add a bit of their own; then Dems add to the spending and re-raise the taxes. Eliminating the deficit wasn't from any change in this pattern but from an unexpected & unrelated economic boom, which turned out to be a bubble. They worked together to recreate an artificial boom (housing) and look what it got us.Wow, you really believe that, don't you?
there are over 6000 pork projects in this bill.

The problem is not that someone isn't taxed enough, it's that the government is spending too much. Neither party is interested in changing that.
Okay, you win. Status quo for awhile more. They will probably end up agreeing to not raise taxes on everybody with the rich to get soaked in a couple years.
Still whining Minor??
You claim to be independent but you drip with Democrat envy
Both sides play the same games. As long as people like you wear blinders they can get away with that.
Obama "has clarified and personified secular socialization and a European view," says former House speaker Newt Gingrich, who is weighing a presidential bid in 2012. Obama, he says, made "disastrous" comments on the subject during his first trip overseas as president in an exchange that has become a cause celebre among conservatives.
At a news conference in Strasbourg, France, in April 2009, a British reporter had asked the new president whether he subscribed to the idea that the United States is uniquely qualified to lead the world. "I believe in American exceptionalism, just as I suspect that the Brits believe in British exceptionalism and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptionalism," Obama had replied.
That comment — which White House officials say critics have twisted and pulled out of context — led Gingrich, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin and other prominent Republicans to question whether Obama believes that the USA has, by virtue of its heritage, a distinct and extraordinary role in world affairs.
