This is one of the mottos of the Republican Party today except...

USA Today: Study: Tax Break Didn't Create Jobs.

A Senate panel on Tuesday released a study that concluded a 2004 law giving U.S. corporations a huge tax break to bring foreign profits back home did nothing to create jobs, undercutting new proposals for a similar initiative to boost the listless economy.

The report found that overall, firms that took advantage of the America Jobs Creation Act to repatriate overseas income from 2004 to 2006 actually cut jobs and research spending, while raising stock buybacks and executive pay.

... proving that if you try to help working class people get jobs, throwing money at GREED will not produce a desirable outcome.

throwing money at green jobs that go bankrupt because you were beholding to them politically did not work out very well either. Greed comes in a lot of different disguises.

In other words, giving money to rich people without strings and expecting them to do (what you consider to be) the "right thing" is a waste of time and money, yet this is the GOP message: tax cuts = more jobs, with the implication when they arrive, they will be good paying jobs. Smarten up people, it's a con game designed to stick an economic knife in your back. Don't be a sucker, throw the bastards out.

Not a wholesale endorsement of Democrats. It's not my fault the GOPpers are such obvious targets. ;)

Minors filters prevent the ability to find as much wrong with the democrats

The lesser of two evils is still evil Minor

Admit it you are an anti capitalist statist/socialist leaning liberal and the democrats fit the mold most of the time

Wear that liberal badge proudly. They corrupted the democrats the same as the neo cons and religious nuts have done the same to the republicans though.

CBS News: Perry vows to roll back environmental protections and increase drilling to help job numbers

Guess whose pocket Perry is in? Hint, they don't call it Texas Tea for noth'n.

And really? Do we really want to "roll back" environmental laws so business can make more money? What about resultant health issues and increased health bills? Wait I forgot, the American worker/citizen is expendable, and this will be a big jobs boost in the cancer wards. Great idea!!
Where've you been? Perry's week is over; he's done. They're chopping up Cain now. Eventually the choice will be narrowed down to the one most like Bush & Obama: probably Mitt Romney. Then you'll have your precious 'lesser of 2 evils' choice that you want.

Give Corporate America and your Representative in Congress (especially the GOPers) a real big hand!

Pulled from another Forum

Atlantic Magazine:
Half of all U.S. Workers make less than $26k per year. ie, are below the poverty line. Translation: "I'm sorry we can't pay you more, because I'm work'n on my 3rd mansion and golden parachute".

So, it's pretty clear that the average worker spends a lot of time at work but if he's married and has 3 kids, he just earns poverty level wages.

How can that person afford to buy a house? The average car price must be close to $20k. Rent alone is probably almost half that wage for a 2-3 bedroom apartment. Not only that, this wage level hasn't been seen since 1999 so in other words, the average American worker has actually lost ground in the last 12 years.

Sure, I know the routine by now. The head in the sand brigade will come along and say, "I pulled maself up by ma bootstraps, (with a free college education, heavily subsidized mortgages, lax business morality, etc, etc) they can too!"

That post WWII world ain't coming back anytime soon.

Cain= 999
Perry= 20% flat tax

The Republican Party:
"We're sorry, but there is only enough money for our friends who should not have to pay into any social programs. Elect us and we'll make a dream come true for the cream of society. We know YOU want that."

This bull shit handing out tax cuts and hoping that our National debt will be paid off is either delusion or outright pandering to one class while being disingenuous to the rest of us. I hope most of us are smart enough to see that:

1) Trickle down is a great handout for those at the top, but will not not work for our debt and it never benefits the majority.

2) It's a launch platform to take away more social based programs and continue the eradication of the Middle Class.

You still live under the liberal illusion that you can balance the budget on the back of the rich

Which has proven to be wrong

Houston we have a problem. It is spending and not revenue.

You are still under the illusion that Trickle Down works for society. The poor poor abused rich, I weep for the travails they face on a regular basis.

Perry: You might as well opt out of Social Security cause we are going to take it away from you anyway.

Oh, so you don't support Trickle Down? What do you support?

Perry's plan represents BILLIONS of dollars for millionaires and does nothing to correct our National debt.

The liberal/statist/socialist definition of trickle down is the rich do not pay enough

Well that 1% pays a disproportionate amount of the taxes already. And the extra taxes you so crave to get never gets to paying the bills. It gets pissed away on crap like Obamas green programs of which 2 wasted a billion dollars.

At what point will you be happy. When the 1% pay for everything? You seem to approve of confiscating money from the top earners and divvying it out to the lower earners but don't appear to believe the lower earners should have to contribute anything if you support the current tax code that leaves off almost 1/2 the people from paying income taxes.

I bet if we went to a national sales tax you would want that to be a graduated tax also eh?

Socialism does not work. The bank bailouts proved that. Capitalism would have let those banks fail. Of course if we did not have mega banks then there never would have been the too big to fail argument to begin with. You had a two year super majority to fix those flaws and not one damn thing was done. And that is fully on the democrats. Demonize conservatives all you like but your beloved democrats are no different when they have the controls.
