I actually said that to a fellow Kopite earlier! Though I was being sarcastic, then I said to hire that Villareal manager (the now sacked one) who's taken 2 clubs down from La Liga in 2 seasons. I want him to make it a third relegation in 3 seasons!

I found it pretty funny on Twitter last night, lots of Liverpool fans saying Rodgers and Martinez are small club managers not suited for a club like Liverpool and that they need someone like Capello or AVB. You could have Jose bloody Mourihno and it's not going to guarantee you success. Wigan's had their problems but I still think Martinez is a decent manager and he did great things for Swansea. Not bothered about who they go for, (as long as it's not Rodgers!) I just like the fact "King Kenny's" last game as a Liverpool manager was a 1-0 defeat to Swansea

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been cut to 6/4 (from 25's) for the Villa job. Would love to see him in the Premier League as a manager, best of luck if he was to get it.
Wigan have given Liverpool permission to speak to Roberto Martinez. That's him as Liverpool's next manager then.

Liverpool are reportedly going to speak to a number of candidates. Villas Boas is rumored too.

On the one hand, Liverpool is a very hard job, because the expectations are so high; but he'll have money to throw around, which must be tempting.
Wigan MUST keep Martinez, he's the kind of manager Wigan need. I'd be tempted by Villa-Boras but yet his C.V. in English football isn't good.
Anybody who comes in will do probably do OK at first, because Dalglish was so awful. It's much easier to replace a loser than a winner.
That's true but hopefully we'll pick someone who can take the club forward, get rid of the dead wood and make a challenge for European places.
I get the impression that for the moment Liverpool are going to try and talk to as many managers as possible.
