Euro's, England and Scholes and we've got a chance to win it. A last hurrah for such a talented footballer, regardless of the team he plays for.

Oh that reminds me, when Scholes picked up a slight knock yesterday (he walked it off) Alan Smith (Sky commentator) said "Scholes is walking a little bit gingerly" Brilliant unintended humour there Smudge.

England won't win the Euro's with or without Scholes, they'd just be a better side with him there. But I think it very unlikely Scholes will come out of retirement. I'd rather he didn't, because it'd be nice for him to have a good pre season instead.

Young, not Cole. He doesn't deserve to be insulted that badly.

The PFA nominations have been announced. Just a note that these are voted on in Febuary, hence the terrible omission of Scholes.

PFA Player of the Year nominees

Sergio Aguero
Joe Hart
Scott Parker
Robin van Persie
Wayne Rooney
David Silva

PFA Young Player of the Year nominees

Sergio Aguero
Gareth Bale
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Daniel Sturridge
Kyle Walker
Daniel Welbeck

Aguero - Fair to put him in, had a mixed middle bit but his start was excellent
Hart - Good season, this is deserved to be fair.
Scott Parker - Is this some kind of joke?
Robin Van Persie - Deserved, I daren't think where Arsenal would be without him. Wayne Rooney - Very good season, scored some vital goals at times.
David Silva - In the first half of the season he ws superb, second half has fizzled out a little, but good overall.

Sergio Aguero - See above
Gareth Bale - Just about deserved, I still see him as overrated but he had a very good first half.
The Ox - I'm not sure why, he's looked good but hasn't played enough to merit this. Daniel Sturridge - Had a good first half, gone missing just lately. Deserved though.
Kyle Walker - Pleased to see him here, a good young defender who should be first choice at the Euro's
Danny Welbeck - A good season, scored a couple of important goals and managed to become a main striker for us.

POY - Van Persie/Rooney
YPOY - Aguero

The problem with these awards is they are voted on at the end of February, so not really reflecting the whole season. I'd have put Dempsey in ahead of Parker though, that many goals from midfield is brilliant. I'd have also have subbed Hart for Kompany, he's been a solid performer all season. I'd expect RVP to win the football writers player of the year (that's voted on later)

The best player in the premiership this year has been RVP.

A lot of tactical voting involved though in these awards.

Wigan beat Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates. A deserved win for Wigan, excellent display throughout. Arsenal were ok but were the second best team tonight. Two early goals stunned them and they never really recovered. Wigan go 5 clear of the bottom 3, Arsenal stay 5 clear of Spurs, but with one more played. As i said last week, Wigan play the right way and are now being rewarded for it.

I think they'll lsoe Victor Moses sadly, but they can replace him. They have the basis of a decent side there, and with a couple more, shouldn't struggle as they have. The 3-4-3 is working because teams are struggling against it, it is difficult to play against because it's so flexible, you can suddenly see 3 at the back turn into 4 at the back. The only disadvantage is sometimes the 3 defenders become narrow (watch Arsenal's goal for a good example). But overall it worked, and it certainly worked against us last week. I like Martinez as a manager, knows what he's doing and seems a nice man.

I was surprised to see Arsenal send that many forward, before the second goal, as I would of thought they would of had some players back just in case.

Didn't quite happen for us last night. We didn't play particularly badly, but those goals were a bit of a shock to the system.

Too many players had average performances, Rosicky was excellent again though, which is a positive. He's like the young man who came from Borussia Dortmund again.

Lol. Don't forget he left Swansea to join a bigger team and to coach a premier league side after he said he would be with us for many more years. So he's kind of already done that. Not so loyal to a cause. Either way, I still like him and I've gratefull for what he did for our club, and I'm very glad they beat Arsenal last night. There's other teams I'd rather see go down before Wigan.

We play Wolves in two weeks and it looks like our old goalkeeper Dorus De Vries gets some time off from benchwarming to play against us. Fucking perfect, you couldn't even write this stuff. All the crap he pored out when he left Swansea for more money, I hope the boys make him eat his words. The icing on the cake is they could get "officially" relegated that game. Roll on a week Saturday.

Wolves could officially get relegated this weekend, QPR would have to win and Wolves lose for it to happen. They deserve to go down though, contributed absolutely nothing this season and sacked a good manager and just promoted someone with no managerial experience. I hope they go down and stay down.

Plus they sold their Defensive Mid too, so really Wolves don't deserve to stay up or come back up for a few years.
