If Arsenal finish in the top 4 Van Persie should stay, but it's his nature as much as anything. Arsenal can't start next season as badly as they did this, surely. He just needs better players around him next season.

I didn't mention it last night, but what a tackle by Ferdinand, about the 75th minute. If he doesn't make it then Yakubu scores, 1-0 down, and then who knows what happens. Oh and 73% possession away from home, very good. Nice controlled possession too.

It's for Hillsborough, I think they have a minutes silence every year on the nearest home game to April 15th.

Not a good day for the relegation favourites. Blackburn lose 3-0 at West Brom, Bolton lose 3-0 at home to Fulham, Wigan only just lose 2-1 at Chelsea (though Chelsea's first shouldn't have stood). Liverpool can only draw at home to Aston Villa while Everton draw 2-2 at Norwich. Spurs draw 0-0 in a poor game at Sunderland where looked a little lost creatively.

Stoke play Wolves shortly, I'd expect a home win.

Beat QPR 2-0 to go 8 clear. Got a penalty which while Young looked offside, it was certainly contact from Derry, referee had to send him off, and Rooney put us ahead. But even with that we struggled to get the second with some great chances being missed (including a great one on one for Rafael). The second arrived though thanks to a Scholes blaster from 20 yards. We dominated throughout, had 24 chances and 70% possession and certainly deserved to win. The gap will stay at 8 points if Arsenal beat Man City, so come on Arsenal.

Sky can't let the penalty decision drop, but they seemingly can't acknowledge the fact Welbeck had a perfectly good goal ruled out. To be fair this detracts from the main point, QPR didn't attempt to play today, came for a point and got what they deserved, fuck off back to the Championship hopefully.

Dear Mikel Arteta, you can shag my wife anytime you like.

Sincerely yours, Springsteen.

What a silly boy Ballotelli is. Sent off for two stupid bookings. Silly, silly boy.

8 points clear, a great lead. We still have a job to do ourselves, but it's unlikely we're losing 3 games.

Justice done. Balotelli's tackle on song was awful. Song was a lucky boy not to have broken anything.

I didn't pick up on it at the time but the FA could easily take retrospective action on him for it, the ref didn't actually give a free kick nor did he seem to notice it. He could easily be facing a longer ban here, it was a disgusting tackle. Roberto Mancini sounded defeated when it came to Ballotelli just then, I think he's going in the summer, as well as possible Mancini.

I'd like to once again praise Paul Scholes though, what a great decision to come out of retirement, It's like he is in a box for the game, and he just stands there and picks sublime passes all day long. He made 129 passes today, completing 122 of them, completion rate of 95%, phenomenal. Superb goal too.

If the England manager for the Euro's had the chance to bring Scholes out of international retirement, do it, and play him alongside Carrick. Those two have been awesome since January as a pairing.

Id go along with that. Who'd go in with them, assuming its a 4-3-3/4-5-1.

Not sure, an attacking midfielder though because they like to sit deeper and play. We do so well with them in there because the wingers are flexible and Rooney drops off a bit.

Fat frank then.

Back to the arsenal game. 1-0 was flattering. Van Persie struck the woodwork twice, Walcott had a good shot tipped onto the post too, and ramsey missed an absolute sitter.

Bar Kompany and Lescott, City didn't turn up. Nasri was crap, Ballotelli was awful and deservedly sent off, Milner showed what he is, a squad player. Few more bad performances. Arsenal were miles better and had those chances gone in, it would have been a deserved 3-0 win. As it was, City were lucky to escape with a 1-0 defeat.

Mancini says Ballotelli will never play for City again. He said this about kettleneck, so we'll see.

was;)

minimal contact which young made a meal of,he conned an inadequate ref in my opinion.....and with young definately offside it should have been a Q.P.R. free kick in the first place so a massive injustice was done...the rules state that if a defender prevents a certain chance on goal with a foul its a red card,so it wasn't a red card because young didn't have the ball under control so not a definate chance on goal

of course this was a one off,its never happened at old trafford before...the day united all but clinched the title is tainted with cheating and bad refereeing

welbeck was offside;)

It was a clear goalscoring opportunity. Young was offside, but that wasn't given (it happens, happened twice to Chelsea yesterday for example)

And as for the Title being tainted? You sound like a bitter Liverpool fan to be honest. Of course the other teams haven't had decisions this seasons have they? It's not like Ballotelli goes oon to score the winner against Spurs after should have bering sent off in the same game. It's not as if Chelsea win 2-1 yesterday when they had two goals given which shouldn't have been. Bad decisions happen. You get them in your favour from time to time, you get them against you from time to time (like the penalty Newcastle got in November), shit happens. QPR were well beaten today, it might even have been more had they had 11 vs 11 because the shape changed.

Title tained? Lol, go and read the Daily Heil.

In fairness that was pretty harsh, RAWK (Liverpool's forum) is always an entertaining read when we win or Liverpool don't win (which is every week to be fair)

Now, John Terry. What a daft twat. He comes out and admits he has broken ribs. What does he think every Premier league forward will be doing to him now? Keep quiet John. Not that it'd be a shame to see him break more ribs, the despicable toad.

The fuck is Savage wearing on MOTD? lol.gif

Admitting cheating as a player on live TV nono.gif Ban him! From talking preferably.

To be fair, good management from Mark Hughes. Leaving Barton out because he's on 9 yellows and one more means a 2 match ban (until today). It's not genius management (because I'd do the same) but it's good.

Joe Hart's reaction to Ballotelli's red was amusing.

Spurs recent form isn't good. Only won once since the start of March. they are still holding onto fourth but it's now only on goal difference and could drop out if Chelsea beat Fulham handsomely tonight, they lost 2-1 at home to Norwich. It's kinda like last season in a sense where they don't win the matches they should and may eventually finish outside the top 4 again. Newcastle are looking good for it at the moment, they are in great form, as is Cisse, they beat Bolton 2-0 at home. Everton warmed up for their cup semi by beating Sunderland 4-0 at Goodison. Stoke play Aston Villa soon and Fulham play Chelsea tonight.

It's scary people comparing Bale to the likes of Messi and Ronaldo (you know, those world class players who turn up every week, rather than on and off) but that's what you get with a British media wankfest. One of the most overrated players in the world.

They've got a team full of off-again-on-again players. It makes them quite unpredictable.

True, I certainly think Modric (their best player in my book) hasn't been as good in the second half of the season, as well as Adebayor blowing hot and cold. They can go from losing 2-1 at home to Norwich to beating Liverpool 4-0, must be fun watching them as a fan, you never know what you're going to get. I think Harry's just going through the motions until the end of the season with the aim of getting Spurs at least playing European football next season, though considering they had a 10 point lead on Arsenal at one stage, it'll look like a capitulation.
