Well, based on that display, I wouldn't back our defense to beat Rotherham. A few arses will be kicked in that dressing room. I'd think about docking some wages given that display. Scandalous that top league players can let 4 goals in like that.

From a neutrals point of view it makes the local derby all the more attractive

Oh it does, it does. City are winning 2-0 at Wolves, that's Wolves down then (I think you'd get about 12,000/1 for them to win now). I'd still expect a response from us next Monday, we always do.

West Brom winning at Liverpool, revenge for Woy is seems.

If you gave Liverpool the option to finish the season now, they would. They're just looking forward to the FA Cup Final.

I cannot believe that fucking result, 3-1 up, we nearly fuck it up, 4-2 up, we do fuck it up. What a shit fucking result, fuck off United defending, just handed the fucking initiative to City, and why? Because you threw away a 4-2 lead. Dozy fucking cunts. should have been 8 clear, now it's only 6. Well done, if you don't win the Title, this result right here will be to blame. Fucking spastic retard defending.

I'm absolutely fucking fuming at that defending, they don't teach that shit anywhere, yes we defend like retards.

City will beat Wolves, down to 3 now. Yeah, brilliant United. Fucking cunts, don't deserve the fucking Title based on that shit performance.

we were on about this at work a few days ago

fergie at times isn't the most likable of blokes but his football to his credit has always been the same, attack minded...they've won titles and champions leagues doing it this way, sure there have been a few decent defenders along the way but its always going forward where they're at their best.

this united team just doesn't have the tools,ok theres rooney...but welbecks still learning, scholes and giggs are still quality but can they keep up with a long title race...the rest going forward are just average,i mean fabio ffs..he wouldn't have been the kit man in past united teams

We're a lot better than people give us credit for. Rooney's great, Welbeck's come on leaps and bounds and has to start games now, Hernandez is quality. The other strikers are acceptable. Midfield's strong enough, Scholes coming back was a good move because he's looked like the old Scholes. Giggs still has it in fits and starts. Valencia is very good, Nani's good, Young's good. It's how you nurture these players. Carrick's has a very good season. Defensively we've coped without Vidic, when he becamse injured people were saying "Oh dear, United will fall away" but we haven't, and it's as much to Evans's credit as anything because this season that lad has been quality, certainly our best defender. Rafael would blled for the cause. Fabio's ok he just doesn't play often, and he's going out on loan.

I thought Everton were gonna flop at 4-2 but it just shows they've got the fighting spirit that's needed to take on the top teams, as for Liverpool's result...We had too many chances but brilliant defending/not finishing lost us the game. I think Liverpool could finish outside the top 10 and I'd honest celebrate if we did finish outside the top 10, because I'm a sadistic bastard like that. Seriously I would! I've got the ability to laugh at Liverpool's results and then move on instead of moaning about it, yes I'm not a good fan for it but I'd rather have a good giggle at where we finish than moaning about it.

I'm hearing from my ever reliable Twitter sources that Robin Van Persie and Kyle Walker have won the PFA Player Of The Year and PFA Young Player Of The Year awards respectively. Very well deserved awards they are too.

I feel like I'm missing something in the Liverpool story. Yes they've been flagging in the league but they've already won 1 cup and could possibly win another. I don't understand why they're not just content with that for now.. and look at building up for next year. Kenny seems like a bit of a twat but again, he's won them a cup, maybe two. Seems like the fans hate their own manager and I'm not sure why it just feels like I've missed a part of the story somewhere!!!

It's because Liverpool fans have higher expectations than where they are in the league (some have overly ambitious expectations) and thus when the league position doesn't reflect their expectations, they turn on the manager/players, but mainly Kenny. Two cup wins (if they win the FA Cup) wouldn't be a bad season as such, but the league position is really poor considering it's Liverpool (who should be top 6) I personally see Liverpool as a top 6 side, it's just Kenny isn't cut out for managing at the top level anymore, and the whole management of various things this season has worked against Liverpool, plus the investment in some players who just weren't worth the money paid (Adam, Henderson etc) and going back to Carroll from January 2011 of course.

The league cup is worthless. I don't mean that as a slight against Liverpool, and past winners. But it is. The FA cup is definitely more prestigous, and worth winning if you can.

In reality though, the big prizes are the league and the champions league. You don't even have to win the CL, just be there and you'll attract better players.

Yeah, I see.
I'm a Swansea fan so coming from me, I'm just happy to be in the league at all! I just think that even though their league position might be not what they want, possibly walking away with two cups is a good season. Like you mentioned with the management shakeups and everything else, you're going to expect them to be effected by it. The fans reactions just seem to be so over the top and fickle. They win the cup he's king Kenny, then lose a bunch of home games and they want him sacked. I also see them as a top six side and when they settle down, can see them doing a lot better next season. It just all seemed so over the top it was as it I'd missed something!

Are Liverpool as good as Man u, man city, arsenal, Newcastle, spurs or Chelsea? That's the top 6 right now, and you'd think Everton and Sunderland will be very strong next year too

No. That's why they aren't in the top 6, but the name Liverpool is associated with the top 6. But at the moment the six sides you mentioned are stronger than Liverpool and have better players. But who knew how the season would turn out? I don't think anyone was backing Newcastle to be as high as they are. Spurs have fallen away, Chelsea have been relatively poor, Arsenal had a poor start but have recovered. Us and City have done pretty much as expected. The danger for Liverpool is turning into a mid table side, it's happened before to teams who were Title contenders (Villa, Leeds etc) and with that would come having to only buy mid table players, like Charlie Adam and Jordan Henderson. They probably don't need the distraction of playing Thursday-Sunday most weeks next season, but they've got it.

Once upon a time Liverpool were assosiated with being title winners, then it was top 3, then top 4, now top 6. I don't want to keep harping on about it, I actually used to quite like Liverpool, but the way they've conducted themselves in recent times means I have very little but contempt for them nowadays.
