Hey, don't blame me, I'm a Yankee and I'm still ticked at the south for not winning the war on agression.

I once saw a bumper sticker that I thought rang true. It had a a picture of the confederate flag with the comment "fighting terrorism since 1861".

It's happened, why bitch about something you can't change with anything less than a sniping... Good luck with that.

Well I can't now can I? LOL I am just saying people are griping over this and it's not going to solve anything. I wasn't actually endorsing assassination or anything.

First Robert and now you. Is it that time of the month for you boys or something???

Just pointing out the obvious. I doubt the Secret Service deals in semantics if somebody wanted to be an a-hole, IJS

maybe it is me but this is confusing

you are right that the original concept was to spread out the vote so that certain states did not control the results

now the problem is you have not large population states controlling things but large areas within a state controlling the results of that large state

I hate CNN but watched it most of last night because their maps were very informative.

I used to support the electoral college but not any longer. I would have made sense but not now when we have the information age where you have TV and the internet.

I like popular vote, but I understand the concept of the electoral college. Last I saw President Obama won both the popular vote and electoral college. Do I remember it right that W lost the popular vote, but won the election? If so, it rubs both ways. ;)

Yup. Think about it. President Al Gor (the guy who got the popular vote) would most likely not have invaded Iraq. He might not have invaded Afghanistan, since his mentor always sent missiles. The bank collapse would still have happened, and the resultant bailouts, but the deficit would not have been as deep because of the lack of deficit military spending. Barrack Obama might never have been nominated.

:humm:

So once again, it's all Bush's fault. :24:

I've often said this seriously. Bush begat Obama except I don't consider President Obama terrible or a bad leader. Give him a chance to enact his agenda then critize. :p I realize u and others disagree vigorously.

Obama had his chance. What, should we give the new presidents an 8 year term to fix the mess they inherit?

Obama is nothing more than a good speaker who makes people feel good about themselves when he's done speaking. To some extent, a lot like Reagan.

The teatards just conceded Florida. The GOP took a serious ass kicking - enough people figured out when you fuck the country up as bad as Bush did, it will take more than four years to unfuck it. You simply cannot cut taxes, then send the nation into two unfunded wars while creating all the Homeland Security type bureaucracies and borrowing the money to pay for it all. And most people it appears, have sense enough to realize the asshattery of trying to blame Obama for it. The interest is still compounding daily that Obama had nothing to do with. All it takes is a little reasoned contemplation to understand this.
