their are people like that all over the world whos to say he wouldn't have turned out that way even if he hadn't been in the military, i was in the military and i've been happily married for 30 years , but if you feel better saying it was the military thats ok, but what makes other men disrespect/beat women sorry but i think some guys are just bullies/pussys that like to beat up women , note i said guys because they damn sure are not men.;)

they've been together since junior high school until now in their mid twenties, steadily. I suppose it is possible to suddenly change your entire personailty after many years but I dunno.

By the way, I'm not one of those anti-military people.

After training them this way, these guys have to come home mentally damaged(some not all) at some point. My sisters husband did two tours in Iraq and is one of those who came back a very changed/damaged person. He used to be nice and kind and a decent husband but now he's an explosive hothead who likes to assault her for the fun of it. She secretly wishes he'd never come home. It's sad.
I'm sorry to hear that. That is really sad.

I disagree that the military is what did that to him though. The war, yes, war can change a person.

You guys just want to fight with each other, don't ya?
It's like who can be the best patriot.

again i don't know what your talking about , i think you went and smoked yourself retarded.

Let me see if this helps you any:

I should have said it appears some of you want to be viewed as 'real' men by excusing the alleged illegal activities of this particular Drill in his supposed training of military trainees to become professional military soldiers. If he's found to be training in a manner in which he was accused, he's a criminal, period. The UCMJ will determine that, not you.

And now you want to be 'manly' with your snide remark about mental retardation, makes as much sense as your continued remarks referring to less than 'manly' behavior or implied cowardice as 'pussy.' Yeah, real men use the word retarded and pussy as slurs against people who may want to actually discuss issues and if the opinions expressed are different from yours...well, just call that person pussy or even better retarded. That really makes you a man!

btw, if you had used those slurs to anyone in MY platoon,
you'd have been kissin' dirt with push-ups, trainee.

But bein's you used them on me like that, I couldn't care any less.
It lets me know you can't discuss some things without your li'l derogatory name callin'and not worth any further discussion.

I think you're more of a "man" if you can use non-violence to teach/achieve something. Violence is often (but not always) a sign of the inability to do/solve something intelligently.

*thumbs up*

That's how I live my life. I'm a big, possibly scary looking guy and I'm smart enough to know that 99% of the time, I don't need to raise a fist. I don't have time for stupidity. I'm selfish like that.

Even though I know AEF does not support the war in the middle east
In his defense he did state that:
"Violence is often (but not always) a sign of the inability to do/solve something intelligently."

Yep, can't wait to see the woman president who talks things over with the "bad" guys. Everyone criticizes war, but just wait until it makes its way over to our shores when we have a "talker" as President.

I am not condoning the "beating" of recruits, but what constitutes a beating? A "love" tap of a tent pole when a recruit isn't smart enough to build the hooch or throwing a recruit into a garbage can doesn't constitute beating. Derogatory? Maybe. But when that recruit becomes a Marine and is on the battlefield, he won't think to question a given order. I bet the recruit stopped doing whatever he was doing to get thrown into the darn trash can.

A famous quote from Jack Nicholson comes to mind right about now...

I love how they emphasize the trashcan incident. If thats the worst they had then I think they got off easy. They are training for war not playing boyscout here people.
