Shouldn't they abuse the recruits so that if they get captured, they can withstand the abuse from the enemy? Call me crazy, but you get what you signed up for. What kind of Drill Sergeant isn't going to abuse their trainees? I mean, this guy just forgot that he's not allowed to whack them with a tent pole.
