In your opinion.
Frankly, they're pretty similar. I can navigate the Mac os because I am used to windows, it seems to me that over the years Mac has made a conscience effort to "Windofy" their GUI.
they are similar, and if you look at the history of the two OS's, you can see how windows has slowly moved towards the Mac, not the other way around.
As a user its the little things that make the Mac OS a great one. Like if you need to see your network prefs, for example, how many clicks does it take you to get to be able to change an IP? Things like that are just much closer on a mac, fewer windows, fewer obstacles. And then you've got great UI features like Spaces, which is a godsend, Exposé which makes window management a breeze, TimeMachine, which takes the pain out of backing up recovering files, QuickLook for previewing documents, plus of course being able to search your fully indexed harddrive in an instant. And that's just a few.
By making the basic tasks as easy as possible, it frees people up to do much more complex things than they normally would. I've switched so many users to Mac over the years, and watched them go from using their PCs for internet and emails and some really piss poor looking "designs" in Word or Paintbrush or whatever its called on the PC, and within a couple of months of using a Mac they're editing movies, publishing nice websites, sharing photos with their family around the world etc, recording music and podcasts, making DVDs of their home movies etc etc
Why do you think the Mac is the creative individuals computer of choice? No, it's not "fashion", it started way before computers ever became cool. It's simply down to the way the OS works - it makes it as simple as possible to achieve great results. And with much less technical knowhow.
To keep a PC running smoothly you've got to have a reasonable level of knowledge, on a Mac you just don't.
It's not to say that windows is a bad operating system, version 7 is pretty cool, and so much better than previous versions like the abomination that was Vista. But it's still a long way off being as easy to use and powerful as OS X.
