Well if they really wanted to make a dirty bomb, I would worry about RUSSIA rather than the middle east. Russian arms dealers have been selling stuff like that across their borders for decades.

He's much more logical minded than your average fundie that will blow himself up. Again, varying degrees of fanaticism here. If he even thought about launching nukes, other western nations with nukes would obliterate him as well. He sees this and knows he can't launch them. They are simply a scare tactic.

The mere thought of loosing this to them is terrifying. They simply use nukes as international scare tactic playing cards.

These men are fundies, but not straight jacket worthy candidates. They are simple disillusioned people in positions to abuse their power, and they love it and do not want to lose it.
