Because if he wanted to do something, he would have done it by now. He's also not that extreme or that illogical if you compare him to others, like Kim jon il. Kim jon il is 100X's more looney than the leader of Iran and he has pretty much full nuclear capabilities if not now then soon enough. He's in the same boat, he DOES NOT want to throw his dictatorship away. What you have to see about these guys is that they have no grater love than themselves and their power. The mere thought of loosing this to them is terrifying. They simply use nukes as international scare tactic playing cards.

These men are fundies, but not straight jacket worthy candidates. They are simple disillusioned people in positions to abuse their power, and they love it and do not want to lose it.

But, is it not Iran's sworn mission to wipe Israel off the map? Their leaders have been saying it for decades. I'd much rather NOT let them get nukes, than sit around with our fingers crossed hoping they won't use them.

Does any country have a right to have a deterrent to prevent another country invade them? IMO they have.If its fine for the USA and the former soviet union and their allies to have them then any other country should have the same right too.
In this case Iran wants them to prevent invasion by the USA,how is this different from the USA wanting them to prevent the Russians invading during the 50's and 60's ? Its not IMO.

And here's another thing to consider. I'm sure neither of you would argue the fact that Iran is one of the largest state sponsors of terrorism. Do you think there's no way they'd give or sell their nukes to terrorists?
