But, is it not Iran's sworn mission to wipe Israel off the map? Their leaders have been saying it for decades. I'd much rather NOT let them get nukes, than sit around with our fingers crossed hoping they won't use them.

Sure I think Iran would want to see Israel off the map, but they'll never do it as long as the western world exists.

And here's another thing to consider. I'm sure neither of you would argue the fact that Iran is one of the largest state sponsors of terrorism. Do you think there's no way they'd give or sell their nukes to terrorists?

If they want Israel gone, and they have the means to do it, how can we assume they won't? I agree that if they launched nukes from their country into Israel, we'd probably retaliate the same way.

But what if they smuggled nukes into several Israeli cities through a terrorist organization? Would we nuke them back? I doubt we would. We'd hopefully attack them, but I think we'd do it conventionally. Which is a fight Iran may be willing to pick.
