I do not like to associate Jesus with the divine.
That would make God of the O T and Jesus related.
The God of the O T killed many at the drop of a hat. Innocent or not. Child or baby or not.
Jesus would not even stone a prostitute.

I will follow Jesus/God when Jews follow Hitler.

The O T God and Stalin and Hitler seem to be cut from the same cloth, so to speak. They all like to use genocide against mankind.

Regards
DL

attacking as a first post, nice lol :) welcome.

There's a wild theory that the Three Wise Guys, Larrythazar, Moelokasad, and Curlybacca, took Jesus, Joe and Mary off on all all-expenses paid vacation to Tibet, or that general neck of the woods. Or it could just be that the writers were on strike then. :D

i`d like to know what happened during the 18 years where he was missing

I read a book once on just that.....it was an excellent read.

It says that he travelled through Egypt and the middle east...learning from the Essenes and other masters. Its how he learned to perform all of his "miracles" like levitation (Indians have been doing this for years) turning water into wine (the Alchemists) etc.

Obviously...the Bible couldnt mention this....its too "out there" so they just chose to leave it out and hope no one would notice His "missing years"

What's the name of the book?

Yeah, I knew he was an Essene, and all Essenes say that they are the Son of God. There were a lot of books left out of the New Testament. I just got through converting a few that have now been published online so I could read 'em on the PDA as I had time to.

it was a while ago now...I'm pretty sure it was just called "Jesus' missing years". A friend got it in a box of old books from a garage sale. I remember thinking that it answered a LOT of questions for me.

If I remember rightly, it was published by the Rosecrutians.

I would love a link to the missing books you found.

I'll try to find the links again. I found them using "christian apocrypha" as the keyword search.

The Rosicrucians are an interesting set of people. I should probably be able to find that book through a few of them that I know.

I still say the writers were just on strike during those years.

Rosicrucian....thats better:D.....

If you DO find it...I would be most interested....I have been trying to get a hold of it again for years

It was a hard cover...red bound book with gold writing.....like an old readers digest one, but not...if that makes sense.

On strike you say? Or struck out because it wasnt what us masses should hear/read.;)

I'm not sure, there. I've never found anything about Jesus the kid or teenager. Could be intentionally left out, could have never been written 'cause they weren't so obsessed with what people were like as kids as we seem to be today.

The Rosicrucians themselves might have an electronic form of the book. Might be worth a look. Might do that myself. I hate to say it, but I stay so busy these days it's been awhile since I've read a paper book or newspaper. Project Gutenberg has been my best buddy. Sunrise/Plucker and manybooks.net too.

All the books (alternative) that I've read have mentioned Him learning from the Essenes, Egyptians and Indians, but the Rosicrucian one is the only one that I;ve read that really details it and his teen years.

Most of these books ALSO mention this being left out, or taken out of the Bible purposely, because it makes Jesus seem mortal....a "divine" one would just "know" how to perform "miracles".

They (the church leaders) want us in awe and fear remember.....and a mere mortal LEARNING to perform miracles doesnt sound so alluring does it?

Even the Bible says that Jesus did not receive the spirit of God until the time he was baptized by John. So, then, prophet or divine, he would not have been aware of who or what he was until that point, right?

I do have to wonder at those who have to turn Jesus into Superman or something. Like, he MUST be linked to David's line to fulfill Jewish prophecy, and he MUST be able to perform miracles (not to mention be a demigod or god) to be believable. Like, HOW could you believe in the kinds of things he taught if you don't believe all THAT? Oh, and don't ever ask questions like that, those are naughty questions.

Makes you wonder, what if Jesus has come back several times in the past 2,000 years and we never knew it? Ohh, don't bring that up at the next social....

the initial topic of this thread is invading and uncalled for in my opinion. i could end it with this relevant statement: why should i believe Christianity instead of any other religion?

Offtopicz > Off Topic > Philosophy & Debate > Religion

Let's see, that last forum category...did it say, "Subjects deemed inoffensive by all groups?" No, I don't believe it did. I think it said...though I'm straining here...RELIGION. Seems to me if that whole category is offensive to you, you probably just ought not open it up. Otherwise, GET OVER IT. You obviously never even read the first post, which I found funny as hell (and yeah, I find the concept of that funny).

But yeah, Jim, I'd absolutely LOVE to do the Tooth Fairy next. She's hot. :D
