I didnt say that.
I said it was the least offender on the list
So what? You want to exclude the biggest expense we have, which we can cut in half and still do the job. When prioritizing which credit cards to pay off first, you start with the highest interest first, not the least offensive. Suze Orman would have your ass.

Cut all those you recommend, but don't spare the bloated military.

The point was major cuts could be be done without even touching military.
Military spending has not had he same accleration of spending....thus it has already been budgeted along the way

there is no sanity on either side

take the payroll tax. both gushed about lowering it at the time. That is the last thing that should have been done. It just makes it less financially viable sooner. Made no sense at all

where is the link to that?

I get the notation at the bottom but want to see where you found it
correlation is not causation. John's cartoon claims a lot but proves nothing.
NOTHING but spending increased those deficits, but of course no dem partisan will ever admit that. It's against their religion. Repubs would have a tough time with this one, too, given the time frame. Had the promised spending cuts come with the tax cuts, we wouldn't be having the deficit problems.

Spending is the cause John...spending keeps going up.
Reduce the spending and it fits the cuts...problem is spending wasnt reduced to match the cuts. The fault of bush.

I dont want my taxes raised to "meet a need" of overspending.
Now if they want to go over budget again and actually stimulate the economy I might actually go for it.

Where are all these wind farms?...where are all these optic fiber cables going in at?
See john the govt can create jobs to help the economy...but it hasn't been happening
There is no reason for a tax increase...trying to lower debt by raising taxes in a crippled economy is stupid.

We have been lied to for decades....nothing is going to change...why in the fuck should we trust them to pay off debt with funds from increased taxes...all the while they have shown they have only been spending more money?
Its not a tax increase to lower the debt John..it is only to slow down the acceleration of debt...dont fall for it.

But JOHN, we have a spending problem. All we have to do is stop spending and the government will be rolling in dough! ;)
TRUTH!

How do you work your budget at home- do you not spend anything or do you consider your income in your budgeting equation??? Partisan think, man! And I thought you were supposed to be above it... :p
Yes, I do the exact opposite of the federal gov't. I fit my spending withing the confines of the income, rather than setting my spending plans then demanding that my income match it.

So you admit to considering income in your budget, but don't want the federal government to do it. Under Bush there was established spending and income. Pulling a Reagan, he decided to slash income and then cry about too much spending. These things are manipulated, yet you choose to focus on only one side of the equation. The hypocrisy...

I absolutely want the gov't to do it. They have their income. They need to budget within it instead of trying to demand the income stretch to match what they want to spend. You act so stupid sometimes just to make a cute quip. It results in you looking more stupid than cute.

Yes we do, but the teabillies really don't want to do anything about it. They imagine some massive waste outside the military that does not exist. Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security all have dedicated payroll taxes and are not part of the real spending problem. The real problem is the super rich and CEO class making massive military industrial complex profits and paying little in taxes in comparison to the massive profits they make on the backs of the American taxpayers. This is an example of a REAL spending problem:

Remember all you "it's a spending problem" defending the rich conservatives - these super rich people that are profiting on your backs do not give a fuck about you, and there is no prosperity trickling down upon us from these people. It's time to wake the fuck up and tax these mooching bunch of motherfuckers.
