They're busy logging in and out from the same computer as not to seem suspicious- it takes time!
I trust we will be properly shown the error of our ways in due time.

Looks like the same old bullshit with these stupid remarks. There has been no reponse to how atheism was the plague of the 20th century and will continue into this one with regimes like North Korea.

I really agree with this quote "Soviet Communism is organically linked to atheism, materialist rationalism and most of the other causes the new atheists support. It used the same language, treasured the same hopes and appealed to the same constituency as atheism does today. When its crimes were still unknown, or concealed, it attracted the support of the liberal intelligentsia who were then, and are even more now, opposed to religion."

Religion has it's dark past ... so does atheist Regimes .....

I don't think it was necessarily "Religion" that causes such violent turmoil ... nor do I think that Atheism causes such violent turmoil but rather the individuals involved in both that desire power who will attempt to sway followers to believe that what they are doing is right.

Let them flame on. It is clear they have no answers just the same old lies.

I wonder if many people make the connection between atheists regimes hatred for religion and the new atheists same hatred.

Well said.

What some people forget is that religion throughout history has been used to control the population, sometimes with and sometimes without the government.

At least someone finally set some parameters by stating 20th century.

Again though, they fail to realize how those people came into power in the first place.

Atheism has been used more successfully to control and oppress people, like in the former Soviet Union. As Peter Hitchens puts it:
"Why is there such a fury against religion now? Because religion is the one reliable force that stands in the way of the power of the strong over the weak. The one reliable force that forms the foundation of the concept of the rule of law. The one reliable force that restrains the hand of the man of power. In an age of powerworship, the Christian religion has become the principal obstacle to the desire of earthly utopians for absolute power."

So religion isn't as useful in controlling people as atheism. If a government wants total control it has to control people's beliefs. With atheism a government can define what is moral and what isn't.

You can start off by reading Machiavelli.

You can't seem to comprehend the fact that religion can be used to control people. This is one of many reasons why a government may choose to control religion due to the fact that the government doesn't want to compete against the church, because they see the church as a threat.

You need to get one fact through your head which you can't seem to comprehend. It's not atheism that controls an oppressed people by it's government, but fear. Stalin had a pretty good track record of not convincing people not to believe in a God, but to fear his government.

FYI, the Soviet Union wasn't as "hard" on religion once Stalin died.

Atheist can't deny history outright but would rather change the subject by trying to blame religion for events in history that had nothing to do with religion. Sure religion has been misused but it was a result of hijacking and not the cause itself. But even if it was atheism is not as widespread as religion so it is to be expected for religion to be used in such a way. The point that is being made here is the damage atheist regimes have done. When atheist regimes are in control the result, more often than not, has been very bad for humanity.

Controlling the masses was the reason atheist regimes wanted to get rid of religion. They wanted to contol every aspect of the people's lives.

Not only controlling the masses but they could justify their genocide to themselves as well. Killing off religious people that opposed them was a benefit to society in their eyes. I'm sure they blamed religion for all the ills of society....sound familiar?
