I see absolutely nothing wrong with 2 men or 2 women adopting a kid. More people should adopt, whether they are the same sex or not as their partner. Those kids need homes too and it will help the world’s overpopulation problem.

adoption isn't going to cure overpopulation. Abortion is.

I'm pro choice because there are too many circumstances for the government to be able to tell a woman NO you must give birth to this child.

Well, it could help in a small way. Adopting is caring for and loving children who are already in the world, rather than adding another one.

I have no problem with gay people, but I allways think about how the child is going to grow up. Life is stressfull enough for kids let alone put that burden of parents being different than most others.

I had a friend in school that had parents that were like in their late forties. I thought it was wierd, but he didn't thinks so at all. He was used to the fact. So I guess it just depends on the child.

LOL well, you can't exactly add another one...

adoption isn't a way to cure overpopulation though since the child is already here... that was just the gist of it.

I didn't say ALL, I just said MORE.

Some people have theorized that homosexuality actually occurs naturally to help prevent overpopulation. A lot of animals that mate for life have same sex mates. Just sayin'.

My family is as traditional and straight-laced as you can possibly find - shock and horrors when my cousin came out of the closet. Him and his life partner have adopted a child, and everyone in my family (all my other cousins have kids too by now) had to admit, out of everyone, they're the couple who have the right idea.

Matt and I were talking today, and we were just talking about the future and what we want to happen. After we get married (that'll be a few years yet), we're thinking about adopting a child. Both of us want to be parents someday, so it seems logical for us to be parents together.

Here's my question: do you believe it is healthy for a child to grow up with two dads? Or two moms, for that matter. What are your thoughts on the needs of children, specifically those relating to the roles of both the father and mother? Can two fathers, or two mothers, meet those needs?

Let's hear your thoughts.

Hi Lel.

Haven't read the whole thread on this, but just wanted to give my slant on this, from what you have asked above.

You know what? You two, from the way you come across on here, wld be lovely parents.

Having two males/females, bringing up children, is no worse than say ppl like me, being a single mum.

Two dads playing both roles will be shared more easily than one single parent playing both roles, especially when the parent not living with the child, hardly bothers.

So, as it is entirely up to you two to go for it or not, I wish you both all the best, because you have all the rights as anyone, in my book!

You must do what you wish.

Good for you two! :) ;)

Like Freespeach up there, I haven't read everything here either. But I must commend you in thinking of this child first the way you are. It's wonderful to see people being grown ups about the realities of starting a family, no matter what the reasons are for concern. Kudos. Rep. :D

PS: I've not looked, but I'm fairly confident there are going to be a plethora of child development studies on this topic.

I have one friend who was raised by two women. He's the poster child for what to be as a guy. He's no push-over, but would never be in prison for raising a hand to a woman, he's got respect for people. He's just amazing, I take my hat of to his moms.

Well then, evidently we all have the same opinion so there is no point in arguing.
There really is none. Aside from the fact that it goes against moral's, and the fact it goes against christianity. As much as people say 'it doesnt matter'. It does. The united states is a christian country, like it or not. It will always be.
