Since when have English people given that respect during other countries anthems anyway? From what I've seen our supporters normally boo all the way through it. But then, how disrespectful is that anyway when half the European teams we play make monkey noises everytime one of our black players touches the ball? This is a disgusting state of affairs and its far more important to sort this out before picking on people for not standing up during another countries national anthem!

The problem there ^ would not be a nation divided or racial problem. The problem you talk about I feel is because of football, and the class of fan that we let get away with actions like that. We can call rugby all we want, but when was the last time an anthem was boo-ed at a rugby game. Same goes for the Olympics, Ice-hockey and the likes... there is no respect in football, that's a whole different kettle of fish.

Oh, trust me, the football chants as well that get sung are discusting. 2 world wars and one world cup is still regularly sung at the Germans. I am ashamed of this but it still isn't nearly as bad as some of the stuff other countries do!

Then people like me have to say things like this. Then you get even madder and start the insults again. Then we give you another infraction. It's a vicious cycle.
