I'm definitely more curious now too as to who exactly River Song is. Guess I'll find out in due course eh. I seem to recall some posts here that I'm trying not to recall too much mentioning it being a let down. Shall find out eh!

Was disappointed with last night's episode. I had to wait all summer for that?

Think it's blatantly obvious that River Song gave the doctor all her regenerations so that they can continue the series for longer. If they keep going through Doctor's every couple of years, the Doctor would have run out of regenerations soon thus ending the series.

Thought the episode was messy, like Hitler, the mini-robot people and everything else was hastily thrown together. I didn't like Mels at all. I'm glad Hitler shot her. Wish he could have done it sooner.


Next episode looks more promising.

I have to say, I knew as soon as Amy and Rory called her Mels that she was Melody. My boyfriend was like 'what? don't be ridiculous' and I said 'nope, it's her' and it bloody was!

I liked some of it, but I thought that Amy wasn't nearly upset enough about the fact that she basically never gets to hold her baby as she already 'raised' her through childhood. I did like that River and the Doctor were a bit more... touchy. It just seemed a bit more real.

But I do agree that it all seemed a bit rushed and thrown together. Like we've spent all that time wondering about knowing River kills the greatest man alive, and then even though she did it was solved and done in three seconds.

Yes I do think the "being best friends with Mels" was a massive cop out. I was really angry that Amy and Rory just seems fine and dandy about the whole thing. The doctor has a time machine and at the end of A Good Man Goes To War said he knew where to find their daughter.

So why hasn't he? Laziness? To drag the whole thing out even longer? He just wanted to dump them all on Devil's Run for the sheer hell of it?
