Go into your user options and set Default Thread Subscription Mode to "do not subscribe" and you won't get those emails anymore.

How does any of this actually apply to whether gay parents can properly raise a child? All this talk of greater risk of disease doesn't mean shit. We are talking about a gay couple raising a child, not some club hopping singles who have sex with multiple partners. Don't you think that makes a huge difference? What are the chances of getting AIDS if you are in a monogamous relationship and neither partner has it?

yah i noticed lots of email from the same guy this had the most posts so yah.

Pudding Time emailed me

No i didn't.. I don't even know who you are.. If you are looking for somewhere to create trouble, keep looking..

There was a misunderstanding Solan. What you were getting in your emails were actually simply notifications from any responses to posts following your posting on the thread. This is the default notification option, which can come in useful to avoid you searching for responses....or could be a pain in the ass if you allow to many to build up. I personally prefer to keep it on. Others don't.

If you prefer not to receive notifications sent to your email address simply follow gLing's advice.

Posting this here now just in case others may not be aware.

Back on topic.

I think the conversation migrated away from that and onto AIDs .. for whatever reason.

No one has said gay parents would be bad, that I've read.

I actually responded before I realized exactly what thread I was in .. but once I responded .. it's kinda hard to not re-respond, ya know?

Yup, I know what you mean... my statement was based on all the posts, not to anyone in particular...

but the conversation on homosexuals not being good choices as parents did spawn this off shoot... so it was tied to it earlier in the thread.

Peolple have choices just like you and me. Just because they are brought up with homosexual or lesbian parents does not mean they will automatically be gay. We all make choices everyday and when a child gets to that age where he/she can make a responsible decision then they can decide rather or not they are into hetrosexual relationships or gay relationships. and that's my take on your topic.

:dunno Appologies if I'm I've somehow read this the wrong way.

I think he may be referring to the actual person, not the fact that he is gay. Straight or gay .. you don't always like the people your relatives date .. the guy might just be a complete prick, ya know?

I'm afraid there was a bit of a mis-understanding here Pete. My appologies. I was in fact refering to one specific individual. Like I said in my post, I think my Uncle would make a fantastic father.

The way this whole thing played out started with me saying that gay parents should just take the extra step in explaining the dangers of STD risk because that particular community has such an elevated risk. Then sombody said they didn't and I supplied the proof. Of course it went down hill from there, but my point contained zero hate or intollerance. I just think education is so completly vital, and I can't stand that people want to pretend it doesn't exist. Make sense?

LOL!

I didn't call you a bitch, I just asked you to quit acting like one.

:smiley24:

Got anything else negative you want to say about me?

Oh, and I'm not wrong.

LOL You're such a child. :24:

I've only ever heard the argument of 100% polling required for a good stat used one other time. It was as retarded then as it is now. Good job. :)

Did you ever find that proof BTW? Or decide what kind you were willing to accept at least?

Environment esp direct environment....what we are exposed to...at home or otherwise however does have an impact on our foundation and what shapes us.

See when I call other names I get warned...

And yeah. Stats on homosexuals are redundant. They can't be accurate because no one has a clue how many gay people there are. It's completely different then stats on something general like, how many Americans can spell. Simply because we have a very good idea how many Americans there are.

No problem Scott.:) And yes, gay parents should explain the risks of STDs, just as much as straight parents should.
