Have you heard the Pogues translation of Apollionaire's " Le Pont Mirabeau"

I think it is one of the best translations ever, and on top of that a great song.

Had a look for it but couldn't find their translation in song, found their translation in word and think the words are beautiful. The Pogues are one of my favorite bands so I can imagine that I would like it. If you find somewhere on line where I could listen to it I would be most grateful.:nod:

why do people latch on to the consept of GOD as if its litteral truth rather than the philosohys on witch they are based?????

Personally, I think it's a combination of thousands of years of fear and the uncomprehension that when you die that is it, you're gone. I do have to wonder though why our brains cannot except us being finite but cant accept the infinite either.

Hmmm, I dont know why people shout oh God. It started off as being a blasphomous thing to say, no idea why it ended up with people shouting it in bed. I guess I would recommend shouting cunt out, it has no real meaning and dosen't offend religious people, well not in the blasphomy department, anyway.

People should have the freedom to do whatever they want as long as it dosent directly harm anyone. If they want to leave their estate to their cat, fair enough but if their animal is too stupid to avoid getting ripped off in court, that's their problem, not that they would give a shit anyway as long as they have a nice tin of Kittykat every day and someones garden to shit in.
