I just did. Now that we're arguing in another thread, I'll get back to the topic. Does there have to be an explanations as to why we need abortions? Hope not...it's wrong and cruel.

There is nothing semantic about it.

A big glob/piece of tissue looks nothing like a baby. And the fetus looks like a baby not a big glob/piece of tissue. The pictures they show in books are so full of crap in their illustrations. People can call it a fetus to help them sleep better at night, but believing your statement about the fetus being a big glob/piece of tissue is wrong. It isn't. It is a baby and you can tell it is a baby. People should know this truth.

When you see them up close and personal and hold them in your hands it impacts you in a way I obviously can't describe here in writing. Put it this way, I guarantee if they experienced what I have they wouldn't agree with abortions and even if they still did - they wouldn't agree with them at 20 weeks. The number of weeks would be decreased.

I agree. I am staunchly for keeping abortion legal (to keep it out of the dark recesses of society and keep a bright light shining on it) and equally staunchly pro choice for first and very early second trimester abortions (because I think that a woman should be in control of her body).

And I choose life.

I'm not totally against it, but I have a part of me that doesn't agree with it much because it isn't necessary. There are plenty of people in the world that would love to raise a child and can't conceive one, so why not give the baby the love it could receive rather than murder?

First, I believe abortion needs to be legal.
This does not mean that I like abortion. I dislike many things that I think need to be legal.

Abortion should be legal for one reason only.Making it illegal would cause more harm than good. People would continue having abortions, but it would be yet another massive government police state problem, like the alcohol prohibition, or any other prohibition the government has tried to force on people. Perhaps if there were, as there someday may be, real alternatives to abortion. And I don't mean adoption. That seems reasonable to a lot of people, but there are too many who simply could not get through that, either because they want to conceal the whole thing, or because they believe that killing the baby would be easier than trying to give him or her up after they are born. Someday, perhaps, either birth control will be so perfect and accessible that unwanted pregnancy is almost unheard-of, and/or a baby could safely be "adopted" when only a few months old, using some high tech transplant process. But until this happens, it would be like banning anything else. A failure that creates more excuses for oppressive government. Unfortunately, this is the least-used argument by the pro-life people.This is probably because so many of them are so fond of prohibition on almost any other subject, other than abortion.

Yeah its being careless, Did you know there is only a certain time when women are most fertile? i bet you did, so why shoudlt the girl protect her self..if this is something she really really doesnt want truly deep down inside..than she will prevent it other than that shes just asking for it.

:24: With the effectiveness of even one of those methods (when used properly), the odds of using two of them and still getting pregnant are astronomical. Much less the odds of you knowing 3 people that happened to.

I have always found irony in the idea that men...Who cannot actually have children, think they should decide if abortion is okay to begin with.
