On a positive note, because of constant efforts, and research, and dedicated people like Jersey and many like her, my son has changed 180.

He dresses himself, is potty trained, asking questions in full sentences, writing, can tell you all of his vital information

And is going to be on a baseball team:)

Just reading that I *tear* cuz I've been there so many times. I have wanted to run screaming from the building so many times because I don't feel like I'm helping and it's frustrating. Then they say or do something out of the blue that you have worked sooooooooooo freakin hard on and poured hours and hours into.. and then I cry.. EVERY TIME!!!

I can go from rock bottom to cloud 9 in one second flat.. and that high is why I do my job.

ABA Therapy has done wonders for him, they unlocked a lot of doors that nobody else had the key to.

I worked with an autistic boy who, up until the age of 2, would only eat baby food (and very little of it for us). We finally got him to eat some adult food but it was inconsistent and really small quantities. He moved to another class and then I left the center. I came back about two months later and his teacher was telling me they couldn't sit him next to anyone because he would eat all of his food and then try to eat the other kids. I nearly broke down right then (and later did). There were so many days when he had gotten so upset and we didn't know what was wrong. All we could do was hold him and give him love and hope that we could figure something out to help. As difficult as it was to have him in the class, I miss him the most out of all the kids I've worked with.
