Second - would you have preferred letting the Nazis continue? I mean, regardless of weather or not the war would have been won, we had to take every single precaution to make sure that this sickening disease wouldn't spread. War cannot, by natural law, be 'totally fine'. But it was necessary. There's a difference between fine and necessary. Dresden was necessary because we had to take every step possible to show the German government that he had gotten what he asked for, Total War, and that we were willing to take any steps to get him out of power.
