wow all.... thats quiet a post..
extreme imaturity post
Then under the hypothetical circumstance that you are proven that there is a God, and you in fact, choose not to follow and therefore would even rather associate with Hitler (whom you assume is in Hell)...I feel completely justified in saying to you....GO TO HELL.Heaven will have nothing but boring people in it.
I'd rather shoot pool with Hitler.
I figured she would see that one, since she hasn't been seeing them throughout the entire thread.wow .. and you expect people to take you seriously .. lol .. highly unlikely now :clap
um, it was a fucking joke. Then under the hypothetical circumstance that you are proven that there is a God, and you in fact, choose not to follow and therefore would even rather associate with Hitler (whom you assume is in Hell)...I feel completely justified in saying to you....GO TO HELL.
Ron, do you not see that in true debate fashion, the question is no longer what you asked in the OP, but exactly what I stated in Post # 4 that I was changing it to?Breath, answer my question Breath....to infinity
Yeah, you deciding you're not comfortable with the question doesn't mean you can just come in here and change things.Ron, do you not see that in true debate fashion, the question is no longer what you asked in the OP, but exactly what I stated in Post # 4 that I was changing it to?
By the way, thanks for being so noticeable with that post. Quite charming.
I'll dive in here.
Okay, here is the hypothetical as I understand it... please correct my paraphrase if it isn't accurate.
"If none of the rules God has set up for us in the New Testament were in existence, AND God was acting in a way He said he would not do, AND we weren't allowed to use our "Christian filters to discern truth," AND we had undeniable proof that it was the one and only God of the Universe, AND we somehow knew that it was going to save all of humanity, would I kill my own child?"
I would do it. For the record though, being a Christian has nothing to do with it. For the hypothetical to be applicable, the Christian God would have to theoretically become something other than Himself (hence eliminating the very existence of Christians).
It is a tough choice question, not a religious one. How about this: If an Alien monster came to you and showed you absolute proof he was going to destroy the world unless you killed your own innocent child, would you do it?
By my logic, the kid is screwed no matter what. It would be almost impossible to imagine or do, but the right thing.
Oh, and for the record... I think you're an asshole for this. I know you think you're cute, and you think you've got us in a corner, but it isn't funny. Asking parents to imagine a twisted, non reality based world which by definition could not exist, and put them in a situation where they are forced to kill a child to save the race is an asshole thing to do. Doing so to get your jollies off attacking Christians just puts the icing on the cake.
Hopefully this will give parents pause and a moment of clarity on what God did for all of us though, with the sacrifice of His Son for OUR sins. Talk about love.
I most certainly did though, didn't I. I still have no proof you are my master. Shame too. Because I would have followed you.you can just come in here and change things.
Why are you so afraid to answer my question? Scott did, even thought he seems to think of me as an asshole for asking a quesiton. I'm fine with that.I most certainly did though, didn't I. I still have no proof you are my master. Shame too. Because I would have followed you.
Oh, and for the record... I think you're an asshole for this
Refer to Post # 4. I chose NOT to. And I picked a question for you instead. Why did you not answer my question?
THANK YOU.
I don't think i'm an asshole for asking a difficult question, but i don't really care about what you guys want to make out of it. I'm just looking for answers from you guys.
So you are thanking him for pointing out that God loved his son enough to sacrifice him to the world for us? Interesting.
I don't think i'm an asshole for asking a difficult question, but i don't really care about what you guys want to make out of it. I'm just looking for answers from you guys.
Explain why.Refer to Post # 4. I chose NOT to. And I picked a question for you instead.
I was merely trying to see if people would disobey, or obey their god in such a situation. You said you were asking the question to make a point or figure something out.
What was it?
