Yay Obama

Oh please... anyone who believes that eloquent speech and charisma is a good replacement for knowledge and experience, well, I don't really know what to say to you... except would you please move out of my country so you stop voting for the wrong people?

So because she voted for someone you didn't vote for, and she has a different opinion then you; she should be kicked out of the country? Hmmm... how patriotic.

My response in saying get out the country was little over the top but, from a military perspective, and this is the opinion of myself and a lot of people in my command, that not wearing the American flag as a government representive is pretty low. Yes we all get pissed at the way government is run, no matter if your Left/Right, Con/Lib. And we all get pissed when the country isn't going the direction everyone(and everyone wants it to go different directions) wants it to. But bottom line if that IS his reasoning for not putting a simple pin on his jacket, then that is extremely selfish and petty. And it reflects on the members of the military for whom he is about to command. I already don't like his politics, didn't like McCains either. But I accept the fact that he will be my CINC. The sun will rise tommorow and the earth will still keep turning!!

Anyone whose vote is based purely on the charisma of the persons at hand, well, yes, I'd like them to leave. I'm not saying we should kick them out, more of requesting that they remove themselves. :)

I'm just trying to make a point of how stupid it would be to vote for the next president based on how well he presents himself.

You know, I don't agree with everything that Obama wants to do --- I think our welfare system is a joke, and I believe there should be major changes so that people can't just continue to have babies and live off the government -- but there is one thing that I believe about Obama that has me feeling hopeful about our government for the first time in a long time. I believe that Obama is a man of character. I'm not talking about eloquence and charisma -- but that he has high ethical and moral standards. I believe that he will do his best to bring the parties together to try to work this thing out. I believe that while he may have done what was politically expedient in some ways previously, as President he will do what is best for the country. I also believe that he is a person who will take council, but will not rely on others to make his decisions for him.

I have not supported Obama from the beginning -- in fact I consider myself to be more conservative than liberal -- and a year a go I would have told you that John McCain was the man. But I have done more research on this election than any other, and I really feel that the best man for this time and this place is Obama. It was time for him. We were ready. And I believe that before things are over, he will have earned the respect of those that didn't vote for him.

So, now I'll just wait for everyone to rip me a new one. :surrender

I don't know. I was very young when Peanut Boy was President, so I don't remember much about it. :p

And no, I didn't want to get ripped a new one --- I appreciate your being nice about it. :)
