So this is how City look without their best players. No Toure, Silva, Kompany, a half fit Ballotelli and they look a much worse team. Aguero tried hard up front but it was never happening. But credit to Liverpool, a disciplined performance built on control. Johnson might have been sent off on a different night (depends on your viewpoint of the Kompany tackle really) but Liverpool played well in the right areas. And 1-0 is a more than satisfactory result to take back home.

what price for spurs to win the league?.....good bet i reckon

I think they have to at least challenge right up to the end of the season to hold onto Modric and Bale. But, no doubt, the quartet of Adeboyer, VDV & the afore mentioned are good enough to win a title. Only man city could truthfully claim to a stronger front line

I think they're about 4/1, third favourites. If they can stay unbeaten in the big run of games they're having (City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool away, and us at home) and win the rest then they could win it. They could maybe afford a couple of defeats along the way but they can't afford to lose more than two of those big games, and certainly not to us and City (they have a great record at Man City). In my mind they finish 3rd, but we'll see what they do in the big games.

Darron Gibson's gone to Everton on a 4 and a half year deal. Good deal for all parties really, best of luck Darron.

Mallorca need to hang on, 1-0 up against Real Madrid at the moment. 24 minutes to go.

Damn, 1-1, Higuain with a deflected effort.

2-1, Callejon for real. It's been coming.

Proof again that Barca >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> RealMadrid. 2-1 flattered Real Madrid a lot. Barca were vastly superior in every department. Ronaldo got Real's goal before watching the rest of the game in the stands. Puyol and Abidal got Barca's goals in the second half. Second leg next week but that'll be a formality. Pepe should be locked up for his crimes this evening. Possession was 73/27 in Barca's favour drool (1).gif

more than happy with a 3-1 win over boro, but more importantly its another home win,3 on the bounce now...and the 2 away games inbetween have been lost by a solitary goal.....the boy nimley from man city scored on his debut which is a massive bonus....with games away at blackpool and at home to ipswich coming next things could be worse

it starts here......pusb

Only saw the first half and parts of the second, but Liverpool looked much the better side.

Just watching Barcelona vs Real Madrid. 2-0 to Barcelona at half time but Real have had loads of chances, however they didn't take them. Pedro opened the scoring on 42 minutes before Dani Alves scored an absolute rocket, it's probably the best goal he's ever scored and one of the best I've seen from a....well, not defender, but wing back certainly. It needs to be seen to illustrate how great it was.

Well I am still not happy about it, we shouldn't of let in two goals regardless of the opposition. I am still seething after the Bolton game, really am, thought after the last round of games from the top four, we could of had a chance to break into it by now..seemingly not

I only saw bits of both games, because the bar couldn't decide what game to watch.

But I saw a penalty that was clearly not a penalty in the Liverpool game, and all of the barca and madrid goals, which was a great game, and Real really came out and gave it a go in the second half, and were unlucky because they had a perfectly good goal disallowed.

Richards was unlucky I thought. I didn't actually see the penalty Dzeko had turned down which Mancini was on about.

Jose wasn't giving anything away in his press conference, he was asked about him leaving. No comment basically. I think he'll leave because really the Real job isn't something any manager stays in for a sustained period. The amazing thing is they could lose the Clasico in April, meaning they'd have lost both, and still win the league, by winning every other game, and they'd win the league by two points, provided Barcelona win every game too. I think he'll probably send Aitor Karanka out next time, or sit there himself for half an hour and not say a word (he's actually done this). Ramos was a little unlucky but that said Real should have been down to 10 earlier when Diarra fouled Messi, should have been a second yellow. I think Real are just psychologically scared of Barcelona, they played well last night, they played well in the first half at the Clasico in December, and played reasonably well in the super cup. Yet they didn't win. They just can't beat Barcelona. Yes they did last year, but I think that was more down to pure luck (like going to Wales and actually enjoying yourself) and it was a one off. The rest of the time, doesn't happen for them. Plus while I think Real have a better squad than Barcelona, Barca have far better players in the first team.
