I told you some Muslims take face covering as a religious command, a few take it as a fad or fashion....Taliban, Saudi's and some other Muslims all over the world take it seriously as a religious command. A few fashion buffs take it as fashion,

whatever the case may be it is a woman's born right to wear whatever she likes....men have no right to suppress her through their own whims.

Sikhs wear turban in western countries and refuse to wear helmet.....yet no one suppresses them to do what their faith forbids. even if the west tried the Sikhs won't obey your laws in this respect...and you won't be able to suppress them...

there are several Muslim sects ....but some sects in Saudia, ME, India , Afghanistan and Pakistan, etc believe veiling is compulsory, If it wasn;t then these countries would have passed laws against burqa but because it is to some sects a religious duty so we have to respect that....even if that sect is in minority, If you don't respect their right you will further be cripply religious rights of a minority,,,and that's not fair, the sikhs too are in minority but because they are MEN you listened to them but because these Muslim wearing burqa are WOMEN you want to suppress them!! Wow!! what a bloody gender, sectarian, religious and minoritical oppression of freedom!!

Prior you stated it was a fad practiced by some..then went on to say it is law in other areas.
So we have fads and laws of the land...but nothing in the quran stating a woman is to cover her face.
