WTF is wrong with society?

So 2 religions can't celebrate on the dame day without one stealing from the other? And even if they did choose to use another religions date .. does that detract from what the other religon sees it as?

If you aren't religious why does it bother you so much that we enjoy it because it is religious? If you don't like it, then don't celebrate it, but if I have to see and deal with things I don't like all through out the year .. and I suck it up and just deal with it and move on .. why must others be so hell bent to monopolize it and destroy something that obiously hasn't bothered peope before the last 5 years .. for 100+ years?

It's one day (well prolly more like 4 weeks if you count the decorations right after Thanksgiving) a year. Is that so much to ask of people to just let others continue to enjoy the one day?

I don't understand this post at all... Who is taking away your Christmas joy? Do you have even one personal story to share on this or is it only what you hear on the news? I stated that I can see the point of companies changing how they do things. It's not how I roll tho. I say Merry Christmas and I'm not even Christian. I don't get offended by anything at this time of year. You want a manger scene on your lawn? Well God love ya, put the biggest one you can find up. If someone walks up to me and says Happy Hanukkah, then I will say it right back with a huge smile on my face. I don't care if when I walk into Wal-mart if they say happy holidays or Merry Christmas... Hell, I probably wouldn't even remember which it was 5 minutes after they said it.
How the hell is that going to ruin ANYONES Christmas? So they play Jingle Bells instead of Silent night... so what...
And I promise you that you or any other member on this board will not come across a skinny Santa saying Ha Ha Ha... You guys work yourself into a wild frenzy over nothing... There is no attack on Christmas, quit watching the news and/or Bill O'riley.... it will ruin your Christmas.

I'm confused with SRC as well... I don't believe anyone said that two or more religious sects can't celebrate their holidays on the same day......???

I was just just merely stating most religions are a clusterfug of various traditions. The way religious holidays work nowadays atleast with Christmas & Easter; Jesus and the Christianity part seems get more attention than all the other history that goes with it.
 
Oh, come ON. What's next, they're going to stop roosters from saying "cock-a-doodle-doo" because it uses the word 'cock'? Sweet Jesus. It's ridiculous that society can't handle something so unbelievably innocent. Just makes my blood boil. Political correctness sucks.

This is exactly what I mean .. people seem hell bent on trying to make it where people can't do this anymore. It's just aggravating that after so many years all of a sudden it "bothers" people enough that it's now "incorrect" to say things that have been being said for umpteen years.

It's not so much that it's happening now .. but it is happening. I believe that in not so many years christmas as we know it .. will no longer be. People have and are complaining about every aspect of it so much .. that it's gotten to where I personally just want it to be over and done with as soon as possible.

I guess the point of my post came off mistrued .. I was responding to several people in one post, I didn't do a very good job of seperating the point. I'm sorry for that. (I was at work and trying to not get caught posting on the forum lol).

I reread my post this morning and it didn't come across very well... it actually sounded mean.. Sorry, it was not my intention at all.

I think I can sum up how I feel in one sentence. We will debate it here and get heated about it, we will see it on the news and get angry about it, but we won't be affected by it in the real world.
Meaning, we won't ever see a skinny santa, we will never experience a santa saying Ha Ha Ha and we won't care if someone smiles at us and says Happy Holidays... it just won't happen.
 
Some pinhead here wanted to call the Christmas tree placed in the community area of their sub division a 'Holiday tree' because they think the term "Christmas tree is exclusive." and it was all over the local news. I say eff all that! It's a Christmas tree because Christmas is Jesus Christs' Birthday!! So if the term "Christmas" is offensive to them then they should be excluded!
People seem to forget the true meaning of Christmas. Probably because the marketing that is crammed down our throats 24/7 starting in mid October.

What ever happened to Halloween? This year they had Christmas decor for sale in the shops before they even had the costumes out. Maybe we as the public need to send them a message. What if we all collectively decided that it wasn't PC to purchase Christmas decor, wraps, candy or anything prior to 12-1 ? Hehee. I am giggling thinking of the store managers losing their minds wondering why none of the merchandise is moving. Imagine if they had to dust the stock?! heheheeeee
