WTF is wrong with society?

Its Christmas. I am a tradition kind of guy. Thats something I liked about being in the Navy. The tradition. Anyway.. back to the problem I see.

Its now being said that saying Merry Christmas isn't PC. Happy Holidays should be said. Santa can't say HO HO HO anymore because some ghetto kids think he's actually talking about hoes. Instead Santa has to say HA HA HA.

Heard today that the surgeon general wants santa's to slim down.

Ok.. so now we're going to have skinny santa's running around saying HA HA HA Happy Holidays....

Seems like every tradition that we have is being phased out due to stupidity.

Its being phased out slowly and replaced with an attitude of "who cares" I totally agree with you i think its because these days christmas is more about what your getting and how much it costs as apposed to what you give and how its supposed to make you feel good when you give.

Christmas is wayyyyyy tooooooo commercialized these days. Its all about gimme gimme gimme. What a shame. For me though, I don't really care what is PC, I will still say Merry Christmas to everyone. AND if the Santa at my local mall doesn't say HO HO HO........... he will have ME to answer to !! :D

Just cause society says something about Christmas is PC, doesn't mean you have to buy into it. Do your own thing, Jeremie. Be as traditional as you want to be. Chances are that you are with others who feel similarly as you, so your adherence to the old-fashioned ways will be met with open arms.
I guess what I am saying is screw everybody else and be you.
And you're a pretty nice guy, ya know.

I refuse to say Happy Holidays .. unless I mean christmas and new years combined .. but I usually say Merry Christmas or Happy New Years.

And imo, maybe people should say "ho" so much .. as to confuse what SANTA CLAUS has been saying for how many years.

It's complete BS.

Yes it's Jesus's birthday .. but you can't expect people from other religions to respect that. For them it is holiday time, time for gifts, appreciation of family, and good food and good times.

I can't fathom why that bothers so many people.

I agree with you 100% on your post... except for the part that's bold.

I don't think it's a lot of people, I think its a very small minority that the media seeks out for a good story.

This the time of year for you to celebrate as you see fit. There is no one that can tell you how you need to be PC...

This is also the time of year for Bill O'Riley to come out with his 2 hour special on the "Attack of Christmas" :24:
I always have to laugh at these guys when they are complaining about changes in the music and decoration a store decides it puts up. When they take down a manger scene and replace it with a snowman... It's a business and they will do whatever they need to keep the customers happy. But as a business, they must also consider all the customers, not just a select group.

It's always everywhere this time of year. I think Wal-Mart, either last year or the year before, told their employees they can't say Merry Christmas, it has to be Happy Holidays.
I can understand that. Although I don't agree with it, they're just saving their asses from other religions and idiots who seek to complain about everything. The whole Santa slimming down nonsense is stupid.

First Cookie Monster, now Santa?

But can you blame Wal-Mart for doing that? How are the employees to know if they are Christian or Jewish?
How would you feel if Wal-Mart only said Happy Hanukkah?

I think it's the right thing to do for bigger businesses, it keeps all the customers happy rather than catering to only one group.

And this is an example of only 2 groups... there are many groups all with their individual ways of celebrating the holidays or not.
