So...I'm going to be moving to a new apartment and I need to give written notice to my current landlords that I'll be moving out. Any advice on how to word it? Do I just keep it simple or make it really formal?

Well, that's all fine and dandy except the reasons are totally under my control. :toothDear Sir,
Due to reasons beyond my control I am leaving this habitat, I do wish to know if there are any financial obligations I need to be know about. Otherwise I will be vacating said premise _____ and if for any reason you need to contact me I can be reached at the following address ________
Thank you in advance,
Zirc
:24: That actually kind of makes sense...except I've got ants, not snakes.I've had it with these motherfuckin' snakes. On this motherfuckin' plane!
Tell them that.
I asked my landlord last week and was told they require a month's notice. I don't even know if my lease is month-to-month or yearly or what. I signed a lease when I moved in here 3 years ago and I've never signed anything since. An older couple owns my building and a few others. It's not a corporation or anything so things haven't been nearly as formal. To Whom it May Concern: (property management company or landlord)
Please accept this as formal notice that I will be vacating....(address) on....(date).
Sign and date.
Nothing else is needed. Not sure what the law is there....here it's 3 months' notice that's required on a month to month lease and 2 from the termination date on a yearly lease.

Truthfully.
I would give little explanation. A simple.
