You don't know when to shut up, do you? What more do you want from me, agnostic freak? Don't bore me with the same speech again, either. I've heard it enough times already. You could be doing something useful for once and pick a side in religion. Quit being the guy that balances out the world and shit. Go find meaning in life or something, instead of annoying me with your worthless questions about God.

I haven't been through the whole thread, so forgive me if this has already been covered, but do you believe in black holes?

I'm assuming you've never looked at, listened to, or felt one, but does that in your mind tell you they don't exist?

My understanding of your post is that you were making an analogy between black holes and supernatural entities. You can't hear or touch black holes but they are there.....same applies to the Christian God. If not, sorry I misinterpreted your post.

I'm not drawing a comparison between God and black holes. I'm making the point that there are many things in the world (let alone the universe) that we believe in that we have never seen, heard, or touched.

To say something does not, or can not exist simply because of a lack of experiance through the senses is not a valid argument.

Last time i checked, we've been observing black holes for a while now.





Personal experience is also not proof. To turn your argument around.

While personal experience may not be considered 'scientific proof', it is very valuable and has been used to teach many truths and lessons in life.

Personal experience should not be written off just like science should not be written off just because we know that many times science disproves science as we build on our understanding of how the physical world works.
 
I'm just saying that you can't expect people to think that personal experience is valid at all in an argument.


Saying things like "I experienced god speaking to me today" is illogical to use in an argument, since you can't possibly prove it and the person you are telling shouldn't just accept it out of hand without some sort of proof.
