Dude......you havent played since pre-BC ...... you dont know jack
this isi my HORDE Character.... hardly UGLY :cool
Woot as raid leader of my guild I got the special privlige of successfully leading a gruuls raid tonight.
I can't say the same about Mags because we had a few who just ruined the whole thing. After three wipes I called it.
It was still a ton of fun nonetheless.
Oh BTW it wasn't my first time in either just my first time as the raid leader.
I've been a 5 person party leader!and I participated in several Molten Core successful raids when I was still playing. Anyway how much active management is there for the raid leader? Is it mostly calling out the sequence of moves? When I was doing MC, I was more or less a designated healer ordered not to aggro the boss.

I'm talking organizing the whole raid. Finding the 25 people with good enough gear, setting up groups, tank assignments, heal assignments, killing orders...blah blah blah.
Honestly that sounds like a lot of work, a combination of whom you know and guild stats. Are guild stats available in a organizable list? I forget.
But when the fighting starts are you making calls or is everyone supposed to know what to do?
Ive killed every boss in the game with the exception of a few special event bosses and Kelthuzad. Ive also led a few raids.
It really depends...in your guild (a more serious guild/guild wanting to raid) if raiders dont know the fight, you gkick them for being mentally handicapped. If a newer person joins on newer content, either you explain the fight or make sure they read up on them on websites like bosskillers.com
Most guilds raid on a schedule, for example we raided 9-1 yesterday, and well raid 9-11 today (short raid week, but theres nothing left to do). There is a guild last on your character sheet on the default UI, showing whos online, the message of teh day, and an optional offline+online list, sortable by location, race, level, last time online, and rank in guild.
The raid leader makes the calls the whole raid. Meaning I explain fights, assign positions, and during fights if I notice someone wasn't doing the right thing or something needed to be switched up.
I'm not that mean to just kick someone right away I give everyone a couple chances.
Not sure why you mention the guild list, but ok.
I should have mentioned it was a pug group I put together and it was still successful. The guild I was in at the time didn't have nearly enough people to do a 25 man raid.

Are you actually fighting or just watching and managing, or both?
Thanks!
I think I mentioned it all ready but I have a hard core addicted friend who besides a family, husband, and girls in high school, (who are all pissed at her), all she does is raid. :smiley24:
One of my girl friends played the same/more than I do, and I played ALL the time. I never had a probem managing job/dating/school, but at the same time, dating a person who played wow as kind of annoying tbh.
my problem is I have to make do with wireless. The government says we can't drill holes in and run wire around this building - and I don't care what anyone might say, wireless cannot adequatley sustain 1000 users.
Anyone who says different works for a wirless router company.
