id save the mother.. and i am pro abortion. i think however in this situation it would be less of an abortion but a misscarrage.. in my eyes anyway.

abortion i am all for. some women are just not fit to be mothers..and yes i am going to be slated for this but i believe that it would be better for that child to have never existed than to be raised by some ppl i see with their kids.
i am for abotion for what ever reason (being too young, not financially stable, as long as it isnt every month cos you cant be arsed putting osmehting on the end of it) bust as long as it is in the early stages.. when it is still just cells.

as for this question.
like i said before.. it is a complication. It for me would be a misscarriage not abortion to let the mother live. the mother can then go on to have more babies.

There are also people on the other extreme who wouldn't consider the life of the baby at all.

In a situation where both lives are at risk, it's up to the mother based on her circumstances.

I'm kind of in this extreme.

I don't see a huge difference between sperm and eggs, and a fetus. At conception, 24 hours later, a week later... at what point does 'it' become a human rather then just an egg/sperm. IMO it's when it becomes aware of it's self, when it can feel things, hear things, etc.

And that isn't until it's about 3 months old; that it can 'feel' things.

Now if a women was to the point of giving birth, I would leave it up to her. If I think back to a year ago, when my sister gave birth, if she had to make this decision, I'm not going to lie, I would beg her to abort--but I wouldn't choose for her.

I can't say if it was me. There are certainly women out there who would want to sacrifice themselves for their child, I can't say that I would be one, until I have experienced having my own.

I think its a personal decision that the mother needs to make so I cant really vote with just two options available in this poll.

If I was pregnant and this happened to me, I want my child to live. I decide on baby... if it was me going through that.

I see so many mothers that seem like they shouldn't have children. hell there was one that used to live next door to us. I so agree with you.

99% of Pro-Lifers agree that in this situation, the mother should be saved.

I see what you're getting at with your question, but it doesn’t really work. The question demands a death.

I would choose to save my wife's life, as would most people. Not because I think abortion is right, but because if the only choice is who dies, then you have to go to the backup idea of 'who has more to live for.' The mother is the usual choice.

If given the choice of two living children, and you HAD to let one die, how do you choose? Does the one you let fall mean any less to you, or was he any less alive? ... No, of course not. But life is hard, and sometimes these choices have to be made.

IMO, this is a hugely different decision than the idea of a child being an inconvenience, and therefore should just be killed. If a mother-to-be gets knocked up irresponsibly, then IMO she should man up, put in her 9 months, and give the baby up for adoption.

Yeah but you're still choosing to let your baby die...and some people might think that the mother has lived her life and the baby has more to live for...needs to be given a shot at life

With the last part of your post, yes this is different...and i agree with you on that part, abortion shouldn't be used as birth control for stupid women. But there are other reasons that women have abortions...may not be completely popular, but 99% of pro-lifers would tell you they don't give a shit about the situation. A woman can be gang banged and get pregnant, and they would still want her to have that baby. Fact. And that's pretty disgusting.

I've lived a good life, with both my pregnancies... I told the Doctor to save the child first before attempting to save me.

That's never a fun thing to consider. But in the end it really comes down to the woman's wishes. It really comes down to which has the lower risk of death once the other is gone.

Odd that you'd make that observation here in this thread. I've read nothing remotely militant in any of these recent abortion threads.

You're right of course, I just connect it to the abortion issue for obvious reasons, it has to do with attitudes about the difference in importance between the baby and the mother as seen by many men.

i'd choose the baby's life... i've already experienced some of life's beauty and thrills, while the baby just came to life and there'll be more ahead of him. i'd give him the chance to live to see and experience god's greatness

It's not a matter of "want" or "don't want." The scenario left no wiggle room. Might as well respond to the opposite choice with "you want the baby to die?? ):"

This is part of why I'm saying it's too complex to boil down to this. You're 15. In my eyes you're a baby just starting out in life with tons of experiences to enjoy. In your case I'd likely choose to save you. Another woman, say in her 40s or 50s and otherwise childless might ... might ... get a different response from me.

My hubby knew during both pregnancies/births that if it came down to that choice I want him to let the baby live.
