i can probably fill one large ass page on this... these are just a few that come up first
I liked Bacon in The River Wild, Apollo 13, Murder in the First, Mystic River, The Woodsman, Frost Nixon and A Few Good Men. A Few Good Men was my favorite of his. He's not the most talented actor but has his moments in dramatic roles. Wish he'd do more like those. But I'd hardly call him the worst ever. Could think of dozens worse than him.
Kevin Costner is a fine actor. Untouchables, Bull Durham, Field of Dreams, Dances With Wolves, The Bodyguard, 13 Days, Open Range and others were great performances. Another one he did that's not known as much was For Love of the Game. Really liked him in that and the style of the movie. Like Bacon, I could think of tons of worse actors.
Nicholas Cage? Lots of people make fun of him but he can act in serious dramas. He was amazing in Leaving Las Vegas. Probably his best. Showed me he's got talent. Also good in Moonstruck, Raising Arizona, Honeymoon in Vegas, and he's great in Adaptation. Also a fun and good action star.
I think most people here are naming popular actors they don't like instead of truly the worst actors. If they were really the worst most of us would not know about them because they would be out of a job after the first couple movies. I look at everything from a sports perspective. When people talk about the worst football players of all time most name well known athletes who played for more than a few years. The true worst football players are usually out of the league after one season never to be heard of again.
Now if you want to talk about popular actors who are bad I'd go with those 2 annoying kids from Year 1 (the chubby guy and the tall skinny one who mumbles quietly) and that actor from The Mummy series for starters. Horrible.
Just my two cents.
