List things you think would help improve our society? (Wherever you live) What things would you like see changed?

A simply one for me, I think society would be better off if we worried less about controlling others and remained more concerned with bettering ourselves ... and I don't necessarily mean written law, but more of social interaction.

The collapse of the monetary system.

The complete separation of church and state.

A little more empathy.

People actually taking a little time out of their lives to help others.

I guess one could argue it's just easier to donate $100 to some cause.

I agree with this! Even if it means doing little things like, putting a shopping cart into the cart return rather than leaving it in a parking spot ... or ... placing a product back in its proper spot rather than leaving it for a store employee to put it back. (These are really small, simply yet very helpful things that we can do for one-another.)

Volunteer work is definitely a plus in improving society as a whole.

These are good!

What else?

If I were single again, I'd highly suggest legalizing prostitution.

Guys would be more laid back.

Doubt that would ever happen.

Conservatives unilaterally become cured of their self-inflicted cranial rectumitus.

Complete, total and permanent extraction of religion from government.

An education system that is designed to create a thinking, flourishing society in which as many people as possible have wonderful lives filled with freedom, happiness and fulfilment - as opposed to our current system which is designed to pump out obedient worker-bees and indebted consumers.

This is definitely a good call. Our education system as it stands now is rather lacking in a bigger picture sense.

A complete and utter rejection of liberalism and the creation of an enlightened aristocracy

establish hierarchy that allows people to move up through merit, intelligence and skill

Zero immigration policy unless you're a genius

reduction of materialism/consumerism

Tear down disgusting modern cities and make them beautiful once more

Traditionalism integrated into the greater whole of society

Consumption tax

Drastically deduce foreign aid

This would be AWESOME! Unfortunately with the attempts at making things "fair" this fundamental principle has been lost.

Zero immigration policy unless you're a genius

As in having no policy with open boarders or closing boarders completely?

reduction of materialism/consumerism

I completely agree!

Traditionalism integrated into the greater whole of society

This has its pros and cons. There are definitely social values that are observed through traditions that are very positive (like manners and the like). There are also traditional ideologies that could hold a society back from progressing past a closed minded state such as segregation.

Drastically deduce foreign aid

That is for sure. Watching a struggling economy and seeing money spent overseas is pretty frustrating!

Ah. May I prod you into explaining as to why you think that should be the case?

I'm not AEF but I can answer this with a few points

1. Most refuse to learn fucking English
2. They take our jobs no matter how shit they are because they'll work for less...
3. They don't know the difference between an XL and a size small... :24:

Not that your other two points weren't ridiculous....but who's fault is this one? It's certainly not theirs. They just aren't too proud to work the crappy jobs for crappy money. I think that's more "our" problem. IJS.

Hard really to say, our societies are so vastly different.

What we have here isn't perfect, but broadly speaking it seems to work.

If we could import more thought-provoking television instead of relying on third rate 'reality' shows, it couldn't hurt.
