I dunno what you may wanna call this but even though i'm born under Christianity i'm very openminded about it all really. I don't have the answer so i don't feel any religion can truely say they are right (looking at facts and all) So I think that any religion could be right or they could be all wrong. I honestly think most religions were made for one main reason; order. Understandable too. It keeps order as much as it can and in the past it did so more. People feared hell so much and they would try to stay to their religious which had rules. Order. Thats changed a bit as people now ask questions and so on. I think there could be one god (male or female) gods and godesses or something we can't even imagine. I don't say any religion is right or wrong even if i disagree with some of their ways.

I don't really know what I am, I would like to think there is some kind of force guiding me. But I am an atheist in that I don't believe in god. I also like to think that there is a reason for everything.

Thanks but agnostic is the one, I think I would have to believe in the power of Jesus Christ to be a nondemoninational Christian but thanks anyways.

Does not compute. :D
I think I blew a socket just trying to pronounce that.

Elluko, Non-denominational.. simply means you worship, you believe in God, but you have no set religion..

You dont define yourself under a specific belief,, ie, christian, protestant, cathlic..etc etc.

they used to just call it spiritual, But as more turn from formed religions, it is in itself a form of religion.. not as many rules, just faith and trust pretty much is all thats recquired.

Can an atheist answer me this. Why do atheists believe in souls yet they don't believe in God, Jesus, Heavan, Hell etc. If the mind controls the body than what controls the mind, Plankton?

Atheists don't believe in souls, At least I don't. The soul is a spiritual belief that has no basis in fact. There is no organ in the body where you can see a soul, nor is there any way to measure or see it.

Nothing controls the mind - as hard as it is to believe thoughts are just a series of minor electrical impulses across relays in your brain.

Look, everyone wants to believe that our lives are important, that there is a reason for living, but believing in something does not make it real - otherwise I would be married to Angelina Jolie.

It's ok to want more from your life - I just don't think you need to delude yourself to accomplish it. Think I'm kidding about the deluded part - consider this. I am a person who talks to an invisible person, he can make things happen - he's really powerful - & he tells me what to do. There are a lot of people like this taking medication.

The one thing science can't explain is emotions. Yes, science can explain how our brains release certain chemicals to alter our mood, but the feeling of emotion itself exists but cant be detected by science.

It's really easy to detect when someone is feeling emotions, in fact it is one of the first things that babies learn - happy faces, sad faces, angry faces.

Everything in the brain can be explained by Chemical or Electrical reactions.

Emotion can be detected & altered, we know exactly how to make someone who is down happy or someone who is happy sad. We can even explain why we have most emotions, evolutionary speaking. We can takes scans of the brain & show which parts of the brain are stimulated during those emotions.

Perhaps if you explained exactly what it is you are trying to say.

Yes, I agree, science can explain emotions, but when you feel happy, sad, the feeling itself can't be explained. yes, we can give the reasons why it happens but the feeling itself cant be detected.

Are you an Atheist, Agnostic or Theist?

What do you truly believe to be the answer?

Please, explain why you have your belief.

Please, debate without getting personal. I know this is an area where many people get very emotional.

Let me start

I am agnostic. I believe the "god" area is a place where we can't be sure. I believe that to think you have the ability to answer this great question is absurd. We can''t know.

Well to answer within your question I guess I am Agnostic because I do not believe in God. The definition of Agnostic is this Definition: 1. somebody denying God's existence is provable: somebody who believes that it is impossible to know whether or not God exists

2. somebody denying something is knowable: somebody who doubts that a question has one correct answer or that something can be completely understood

This is the only group that I could fit in according to your question but I am not Agnostic I am Wiccan the definition of Agnostic does not fit me neither does the definition of Theist or Athiest. The reason I say this is because I do believe that a man named Jesus lived and that he was a powerful healer but he was a man. I do not believe that there is only one God. Now wait after looking back at the definition of Agnostic the second definition might actually fit because I think that you are learning everyday about everything and that no one can understand something completely.

okay i've being trying to keep up but now i'm a bit confused lol so to make myself clear on what agnostic means i went to my trusty dictionary were it says agnos'tic- one who holds that we know nothing of things outside the material world. That's more less what i was on the lines of (i could of just wrote that but of course i took the long way around it, typical)

Maybe, but I think if you looked into very hard science you would find out what chemicals do to your brain/blood/heart rate to give you what we would call "happyness" "sadness" and so on. I think in years to come science will be able to work out most things, just not yet.
But I don't really like to think about it, as I said I don't believe in god or any thing but I would like to think that maybe there is some thing that controls if I could let myself.
