Allow me to clarify a bit more:
If someone says, "I understand and accept God's rules", that in itself does not indicate a lack of self respect. However, if someone makes a blanket statement, something to the effect of whatever "God says is right" I tend to view that as mindless acceptance and a lack of self respect, in that you don't respect yourself enough to evaluate and judge a standard even if it is God's standard. But to be fair, that might not mean a lack of self respect, it might just mean poor judgement. :)

Ok.

Wish I could chat some more but I got to hit the sack now. Thank God (figuratively speaking) tomorrow is Friday. Can't wait to head out of that office in the evening.

We'll catch up later Minor. Keep cool man. Nite nite.

Wrong again.

self respect
1 : a proper respect for oneself as a human being
2 : regard for one's own standing or position

self-respect
Due respect for oneself, one's character, and one's conduct.

Ipso facto, Grace has loads of self respect.

Whilst I do not disagree with your point that Grace has loads of self-respect, I will however attempt to provide what I think Minor Axis was trying to state.

In reference to the black-bold definition number two, having a "regard for one's own standing or position" *is* being sure of what *is right or wrong.*

However, if aligned with someone else's (or God's) position on the current issue, you will find many will deviate themselves to using aligned standard, such as Grace with God's standard, and therefore will accept and apply such standard to the issue at hand.

In accordance with the tan-bold definition, number one, having "respect for [...] one's character, and one's conduct" is directly derived from a standard or position on an issue, and therefore the choice of actions taken or decisions made in reference to an issue, are rooted in that standard.

If combined, the root of one's conduct and character delves from one's standing or position; this domino effect is greater puzzled by the unchanging standard of God, even if times and society's values change.

------

Unfortunately, if the posters in this thread are not careful (I am providing this warning, mostly to myself , now), we may resort to lesser favorable tactics, which may result in some infractions, up to and including one or more banishments. I can see many places in which I could have come up unintended insults in the above text I just wrote; not just that, but I may not participate in this thread much longer, because I just do not know how long I can keep this type of intellectual debate going, without going for easy shots, and may choose to refrain from posting in this and similar threads shortly. :(

Plain and simple, self respect is a personal feeling one has for oneself. "Self" being the key word. As in self confidence...having confidence in oneself. Can't explain it much simpler than that.

And BTW ssl, you are doing very well.

Confidence of self in what?

In that you know you can do something? That something you choose was the correct choice?

*requests qualification*

:D

And thanks, but it is difficult to keep up this mindset, when I have not participated in extended debates for some time.

I devote much of my mindset into programming. :)

God did die......on the cross......and thus it was complete.........Jesus Christ dies on the cross and is born on the cross.......that's irony for you.
