What I think needs to be done about oversized trucks and SUV's.

You keep asking for "proof" and documentation of where it says we are given the right to own anything. It's in the concept of supply-and-demand. It's in the concept of consumerism. These are well-known aspects of our economy and there are no "rules" written down about rights of purchasing power.

:24::24::24:

LMAO. I haven't read much of this thread, but I SOOOO know where you're coming from here Breath. I can't even tell you how many times I've been down this particular road with him. I'd tell you to save your breath, ... lol, but I'd be a hypocrite if I did.

FWIW, You're spot on with free markets and Supply and Demand being the answer. Good show.

"rights of purchasing power" Oh brother AEF. What have you gone and stepped into now?:wtf:

2006 Hyundai elantra. it gets around 33-34 MPG.

and do you keep this car in tip top running condition? Have you checked your spark plugs, wires, fuel pump? Do you make quick trips to the gas station? To the store? Are all of your trips longer than 10 miles?

Do you have a family of +5 that you tow around? Do you honestly believe a smaller car would cut it for that job?

Don't worry James. It's all in his plan dude. AEF wouldn't just throw an idea out there without thinking it through all the way.

He obviously knows that SUV's are bad. He has undeniable PROOF that they murder Earth. ... Therefore, there is only one answer possible, and it's the one that he came up with.

Errr.

no its common sense. Bigger engines normally ----->use more gas---->burn it off at a more expedient rate--->thus more pollution---->lends to the natural process of global warming.

That's what I said.

I was just trying to help James out.

He's hooked me up many times in the past. I didn't want him to get stuck looking foolish by not accepting that you've done all your homework, and there is only one answer.

You read Communism when I didn't say Communism. It's easy to see how anybody could make that jump though. ... It's more like a slight lean than a jump I suppose.

What about our personal liberties to do whatever the hell we want? I thought you were an Anarchist??

This plan is VERY non-anarchisty.
I'm not an anarchist. I like the concept of it, but it only goes that far. I'm a democratic Socialist at heart. Even under a pure anarchic system you wouldn't be able to just do what the hell you want. People need to understand that anarchism is NOT chaos.

I'm not saying that my ideas are the only answer, there could be many. What I propose is just what I thin its the best and most direct route to solving this problem.
