My cat has had a heart murmur since birth. The Veterinarian has always said not to worry cause he'd most likely die from advanced age. No meds available to deal with the defect.

When I take him to the Vet's, I'm going to ask them to trim his nails short for me. Thankz for that tip.

As far as I know, there are no meds for heart murmurs, and he has already proven he doesn't need them by getting to his age ♥

Do you know how to trim his nails?.. It's easy if they are light in color... you can easily see the "quick" inside, and you can cut just bellow that.. You should get some Kwik-Stop made by Gimborn, or some other styptic powder beforehand, and use it right away if you should cut too short and it bleeds..

You'll save the $$$ for catnip that way..

Willow, I am sorry for your loss. Like many others have said, losing a family pet is like losing a family member. It is extremely hard. I sincerely hope you are feeling better now! :smiley31:

Thank you!.. I'm okay and will feel better when I can lay her to rest in the little place I have for them.. With all the rain, the creek is out of its banks and I can't dig in there, but hopefully I will in a day or two..

Awww.....I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. It must really be hard

I've lost to old age a great Pyrenees dog named Bambi a few years back . And with a family situation, I had to let 2 British short haired cats be adopted by a friend. It's a sad day just like you're feeling now

That bond becomes stronger as we consider our pets part of our family and they become part of our everyday life. We grow together. They're just not animals but like a friend too who's always there for us . I truly know how you feel. *hugs*
