Has anyone here read the books? True Blood is good, but I find the books are superior. I know they are using a lot of filler. The whole deal with the menard in Season Two, the excuse to have a town wide orgy? Read the books and see if you don't agree. :)

I think I'm on the 3rd book, I paused to read Naamah's Curse by Jacqueline Carrey :ninja

I like the books, more or less, I find myself skimming through parts. They are written kinda... poorly? Compared to authors like J Carrey, N Evans, D Francis.

I own the first 8 and I've read the 9th one. I need to buy books 9 and 10 at some point.

The books are better though, I agree. As soon as I read them, I became obsessed and read all the books in quick succession (this was before book 10 was released). I need to finish watching the first series actually. I started watching it online and then got side tracked with exams.

I'm currently reading "Dead and Gone", which is No.9, this is where
the shifters out themselves and Crystal, Jason's girlfriend is crucified on a cross out back of the bar.
. Still great!

Sookie Stackhouse books.

The books are better, but I do really enjoy the TV series. Mainly because it's like an alternate reality from the books. :thumbup

Very true. As far as liberties, some I like and some, the book was better. For example I like Lafayette who was not really a player in the books.

Yeah I've read that one. I was dead shocked by what happened though :eek

I can't wait to read book 10. Might see if they have it in the library today!

I'm so torn on watching this on the computer or waiting for the TV show to start in the UK. I'm not sure I'm that patient! :p

I have to wait until it comes out on dvd (no HBO here). Course I still need to pick up and read book 10.

Really love some of the changes they put into the show, and the casting choices were damn near perfect. (though I am still a little underwhelmed by the choice for Andy Bellafleur. ) Seeing Milton as a Vampire was fricken awesome though!

Their tooths are so wrong... No, I do not watch it because I wanted to save the picture of "Real vampires" in my head. I loved to watch old fashion kind vampire stories, I do not want to spoil that.

Is there HBO (Home Box Office- a cable subscription network) in the U.K. or does it make its appearance by way of an arrangement with another network?

Anyone know if their fangs are mechanical or digital?

It is not that. It is more like tooths are in the wrong place, too front, it is comical. They also have other things wrong. And they does not have "the look" or "the passion" or" the magic" or anything. That is like a bold and the beautiful in action tv-serie. I do not want to change my pic of vampires and that just tell I am getting old, lol!
