it's not a contention, fox....i know you conservative types have poor memories, and are constantly relying on your pundits to remind you of what actually happened in the past....but surely your memory goes back 7 years....in your case, maybe 7 years, and a week, just to be safe....when somebody mentioned iraq, what was the first thing that popped into your head?

be honest.

as a population, i'd guess it looked something like this
iran: less than 5%
wmd: around 20%
oil: around 15%
kuwait: around 10%
hussein: around 50%
islam, al queda, other terms "hotboxed" by 911: less than 1%

if somebody mentioned husseiin, i'd guess it was
iraq: 55%
kuwait; 30%
wmd: 15%
islam, al queda, etc: 0%

thye're just my quesses, of course, and don't prove anything....so you can laugh 'em off.....but the excuse is not contrived...the "total distortion of the truth" arguement is bogus

but i'll grant you that one choice of wording has political advantages over the other....works both ways, tho, now.....don't it? :ninja

And we've had ENOURMOUS success in crippling Al Queda. That's something you know nothing about because the media doesn't want you to know that.

In Iraq?? Iraq was never about Al Queda and I'm pretty sure you know that if you are as smart as you claim to be. That is one of the Administrations revisionist history attempts. Iraq was about 1)Saddam Hussein and WMD, then 2) Al Queda which was minor if at all, because they were not in Iraq until we toppled the government, so then it became 3) Hussein was a bad man and suppressor of the Iraqi people. The Administration went to reason 3) because 2) did not carry any weight. Most of the people held in Iraq as terrorists were Iraqis with no ties to Al Queda.

The media does not want us to know about our successes against Al Queda based on what, your prejudices? Al Queda is not a traditional army to be beat on the battlefield. Iraq, if we stay engaged at 1 billion dollars a day is going to put the country into the poor house, not really achieving anything against Al Queda, other than now, trying to keep them from coming into the vacuum of Iraq. That's our big accomplishment? It's been a monumental waste of our resources just to get Iraq stabilized. It's a sick joke for people like you to be out there cheerleading the MONUMENTAL waste of our resources, human and financial.

I guarantee if it was a Democratic President who had started this war, you'd be the one in this forum railing about our government having their collective heads up their asses and would be moaning about the financial state of the country. Come on admit it!
