Fictitious, mythical potato(po-tay-to) potato(po-tah-to) what's the difference? My point is what does it matter if something is historically correct or not it doesn't mean there isn't any value to it. I don't think the bible was written as a history book. I think wisdom can be found even in a Charlie Brown cartoon. It seems irrational to me to not consider something useful if it can't be proven factual.

What useful lesson does the story of Adam and Eve teach you?

Waaaaaaaaaa no one likes my holy book! *crosses arms*
Obviously it has value to plenty of people, it sells well, last I heard. Get off it.
The trouble is when that value is making law and fact out of things that aren't law and facts. Hence this joke :)

Hmmm...you don't get too involved in discussion as I am aware. You sit back and take pot shots without addressing anyone directly....You are a brave one aren't you. hahaha!

The birth date of Jesus is unknown actually, it was put on the 25th December mainly because the American tax date falls on the 1st January. Orthodox Christians celebrate Christmas on the 6th January, now called the epiphany by Roman Catholic, Anglicans other Christians

Christmas was celebrated before America was colonized to be taxed, so methinks that's not it.

Of course Christmas was celebrated before the Europeans colonised the Americas but that doesn't say it was moved to the 25th Dec. because you Americans have their tax year to deal with etc....

Christmas was on the 25th of December since the 4th century. Well over 1000 years before the US was even visited...

You make no sense.

Don't run away Dana. You say God is a myth what about Jesus. Is Jesus a myth also?

There is no irrefutable proof that he was even a real person and if he was his true nature is up for debate. I'm not running anywhere. God I don't live on OTZ 24/7.

There is evidence that a man named Christ existed though.

My understanding is that the only "Christ, Son of God" references are found in the Bible and the ancient scripts it was based on. There are no city records of a Christ who ran around and shook up the Middle East 2000+ years ago.

Of course there wouldn't be. An "ordinary" preaching about peace and forgiveness it would of been hard to get that message across with the likes Julius and Augustus Caesar invading other countries

Jesus had the full attention of Pontius Pilate and Jewish leaders in Jerusalem, didn't he? You'd think there would be references in other than religious scripts. There are historical records of significant people such as Caesar.

Well, perhaps they wanted no reference of him since what he said was basically the truth about themselves :dunno
