The Trials and Tribulations of One Freak of Nature

There was weirdness going on last night. I don't know what time it was...I'm guessing around 2am. I woke up because someone was pounding on the door to the apartment building and dropping the occasional f-bomb. I'm guessing he didn't have his key to get in. A few times I thought he had gotten in because I thought I heard him running up/down the stairs but then he'd start pounding on the door again so I have no idea what was going on and I wasn't about to go out of my apartment to have a look-see. I am glad to be moving out of here.

Hmm, I'd be glad to be moving. I still live on the same stair where someone was attacked by someone with a hammer. Luckily I own my flat and they rented so we got them kicked out.

It's not my last night, unfortunately. I'm moving slowly. This weekend I'm moving all my horses, books and other "non-essentials"...depending on how motivated I am. :ninja I probably won't do much moving on days that I'm working, so then I'll wait until the weekend after next (I have every other weekend off) to move the rest of my stuff, excluding furniture. At that point I'll probably start living in the new place, sleeping on an air mattress. I'm using three days of holidays so I don't have to work the weekend after that. That's when my family is coming out and then I'll find myself a truck and move my furniture. My mom is coming a bit earlier, on the 23rd, to help with cleaning and such. So yeah...it'll be a long, drawn out move. :p

Oh, that's nasty.

I live in a decent area of the city, but the building is older and rent is cheap, which probably attracts "undesireables". I've never felt insecure living here but it's still nice to be moving up, so to speak. This place is in more of a commercial area and the new place is purely residential, which makes a difference too.

Yeah I live in a block which is decent but its a very mixed area. My block is all private rent so the rent is generally higher but Edinburgh is an expensive place to live anyway.

When I lived in my home town I went to quite a few PartyLite parties and accumulated a modest collection of nice candle holders. Since I've moved to Saskatoon the majority of it has been stored away. I hauled it all out yesterday and moved it over to the new place and discovered a piece I'd forgotten I had. I'm very chipper because it's like I just bought it again and I have a lovely new thing. :D

Soooooo tired! I moved all my CDs, movies and my heavy books today. I also moved all my extra bedding and towels so at least I had some light stuff to truck up the stairs. The heavy stuff nearly killed me, though. At least that's done with. It was a productive weekend. My next weekend off I'll try to move the rest of my stuff that fits in my SUV. Then I'll just have furniture left.
