I've named her Firefly because she glows in the dark. :D

I'm somewhat annoyed. I order my contacts online because it's cheaper than getting them from my optometrist. Because I'm so short sighted contacts in the power that I need usually aren't in stock and need to be ordered from the manufacturer. It takes longer and I know this so I plan accordingly. The advertised ship time from the place where I order my contacts is 2-3 days. Because mine need to be specially ordered it usually takes around 2 weeks. My current supply of contacts is due to run out at the end of June so I figured I'd better order myself some more now before timing becomes critical. I ordered them last week. The next day I get an email saying that they don't have them in stock and the expected ship date is in two weeks. Fine. Expected. Now I've gotten another email that says my contacts have been back ordered by the manufacturer and the new expected ship date is July 3. What the heck??? Two months??? I'm going to have to wear the ones I currently have a bit longer than I'm supposed to and hope I don't lose one or tear one or I'll be stuck wearing my glasses. So much for ordering them before timing became critical. :mad

Gah, that's annoying. I order mine online too but I've gotten into the habit of wearing them for way longer than I should so the only fear I have is like you say, accidentally tearing or losing one and not having a replacement right there.

Not to mention, my glasses are a good 0.2 weaker than my lenses because I never wear them, so they're emergencies only - I wouldn't be legal to drive in them :ninja

That's insane... can you change the order to two shipments? Or would they expire?

Oh and, I like the horse! Do you use it as a night light?

My glasses are my current prescription. The problem I have with that is that because my prescription is so high the difference between how I see is fairly substaintial (not sure if that makes sense.) As long as I switch back and forth between them regularly I can make the adjustment with no problem. If I wear just one for a while, then when I try wearing the other again I feel nauseous until my eyes and brain can adjust to how I'm seeing. (I know I'm explaining this poorly.) Kind of like when you increase your glasses prescription and you have to adjust.

Not sure what you mean by two shipments.

If I ever have space in my room it would make a lovely night light, though it does fade out after a while. :D

Oh and because my eye sight is so terrible I tend to be a bit extra cautious about things. I feel the need to take good care of them so I don't lose what I have. That's why I tend to stick to expiry dates with my contacts. I have one month disposables so I wear them for one month. Though I suppose if I have to wear them for an extra week or two that's not so bad. Usually when I've been wearing them for a month they start to bother my eyes so we'll see how that goes. Annoying contacts are...well...annoying. :p
