Our mares that are close to foaling are brought in for the night but they're still turned out for the day. Popsicle was born at 3:30pm so whoever was working that day wasn't paying attention. She should have been brought in as soon as she broke water so that she could foal inside where it's warm. It's too cold still for a foal to be born outside here, especially one as small as he is. He had a bit of a rough start but he's doing well now.

Yeah, that was Tiny last year. (I still call him Tiny even though he's a yearling now and his name is Bravatti ) Believe it or not, the colt I'm offering you this year is smaller than Tiny. :eek Seriously, I need to get some pictures of him. He's just the cutest little thing. He was (accidentally) born outside so we call him Popsicle.

That's an Akhal Teke. They're known for the metallic sheen to their coats. Super cool. I'd like to see an Arab in that colour. :thumbup

Lol! They DO look like aliens. Tekes have a very upright neck carriage and a very narrow, slender build. I actually think they're rather ugly. :ninja The only thing I like about that breed is their metallic coats.
